My Kitchen Rules fans notice glaring editing fail during cooking challenge – so can you spot it?
As a dedicated follower of My Kitchen Rules for over a decade now, I must admit that I’ve seen it all – from heartwarming victories to tear-jerking eliminations. However, Monday night’s cooking challenge left me scratching my head more than ever due to an apparent continuity error with Mike’s Italian flag bow tie. I found myself playing a game of “spot the stripe” as it kept flipping around during the cook-off!
Observant followers of My Kitchen Rules on social media have been quick to notice an unexpected oversight in the editing process that occurred during last night’s culinary competition.
Mike and Pete skillfully crafted an exquisite Gnocchi dish for the judges, while Mike accessorized in honor of European cuisine with a vibrant bow tie resembling the Italian flag.
Viewers swiftly pointed out a seeming inconsistency in the scene when Mike’s tie appeared to switch positions during his conversation with the camera.
The tri-colored accessory switched positions, so the red side was initially on the left before moving to the right, as Mike breathed a sigh of relief upon Judge Manu Feildel’s approval of their dish.
People on social media swiftly shared their laughter over a seemingly continuous mistake spotted on the suspenseful cooking show.
‘That bloody tie was driving me nuts last night. Kept switching lol,’ one person sniped.
‘Maybe it’s a battery operated bow tie and twirls,’ a second person joked.
A bystander added, “It’s important to note that MasterChef Australia (MKR) films multiple dishes over just a few days.
Another added: ‘Maybe they took it off during the cook and put it on when cameras were rolling.’
Last month, the beloved Channel Seven series returned to television screens for a brand new season.
Initially, the series didn’t sit well with certain audiences due to their perception that it was overly scripted.
MKR has had some teething issues since its return to television screens in recent years.
come July 2023, the thirteenth season debut of the culinary contest attracted only about 470,000 spectators in major cities.

Last night’s broadcast of MKR failed to make it into the top ten most viewed shows, marking a significant drop compared to its peak viewing figures a decade ago, where it consistently drew over a million viewers per episode.
The series returned to Channel Seven in 2022, two years after it was axed.
Debuting to just 500,000 viewers, the show has continued to shed fans in the metro centres.
