My 600lb Life Star Latonya Pottain Dies at 40 in Heartbreaking Final Hours

My 600lb Life star Latonya Pottain has died aged 40.

On Saturday, May 17th, the well-known reality TV personality who was a contestant during season 11 of the show and weighed approximately 632lbs at that time, passed away at CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, according to TMZ’s report.

According to the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office, the initial autopsy results indicated that Pottain passed away due to heart failure caused by congestion.

On Saturday morning, Pottain’s brother mentioned that they, along with other relatives, had paid a visit to their home. During this visit, they observed that she was struggling to breathe and expressed extreme discomfort. Furthermore, he noted that she didn’t seem to be in good health.

Later on, Pottain’s brother received a call from a nurse informing them that Pottain herself had requested an ambulance, as she was experiencing a cardiac arrest. This unfortunate incident ultimately resulted in Pottain’s passing.

Pottain first appeared on the show in 2023 when her weight had left her mostly bedbound.

In distressing moments, Pottain declared that food helped ease her tension when her caretaker served her breakfast in bed.

Five years ago, at the age of 480 pounds, she paid a visit to Dr. Younan Nowzaradan on his TV show, but eventually decided to discontinue the weight loss program.

Although she had sworn to transform herself following a lifetime of weight struggles, Pottain found it difficult to stick to the stringent new diet plan and was spotted indulging in fried foods, eventually leading to an increase in weight during her next weigh-in.
