Mustafa Ali will have an amazing run in AEW at some point

As a seasoned gamer and wrestling enthusiast with decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that Mustafa Ali is a name that has always intrigued me. His journey from 205 Live to the independent scene, and now potentially AEW, is reminiscent of a classic RPG character leveling up, ready to take on new challenges.

Prior to All Out 2024, there were whispers that Mustafa Ali might be present behind the scenes at All Elite Wrestling, hinting at potential participation in the much-anticipated PPV event.

Despite All Out happening in his hometown of Chicago, which was the former WWE star’s venue, that particular event didn’t materialize as planned. However, he announced on X that he would be interacting with AEW fans outside the venue instead.

In the future, there’s an opportunity for Mustafa Ali to collaborate with AEW following his stint as a free agent in 2023. Currently, he’s been active on the independent circuit, working with companies like PROGRESS Wrestling, RevPro Wrestling, DEFY Wrestling, and New Japan Pro Wrestling.

More recently, the former TNA X Division Champion, Ali, had a successful reign before deciding to part ways – a title that has previously been held by stars such as Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, and Christopher Daniels. Currently, TNA Impact maintains a professional alliance with WWE. This departure potentially increases the chances of Ali signing a deal with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in the upcoming year or two.

Where could Mustafa Ali fit in AEW?

At present, AEW boasts numerous acrobatic wrestlers who have the potential to become title holders across various dimensions. Talents like the recently signed Ricochet, Will Ospreay, Hologram, Dante Martin, and others display a style reminiscent of Ali’s. This particular wrestling style is quite prevalent in an already robust lineup.

Ali’s unique edge lies in his ability to adapt to various wrestling styles, showcasing his versatility across multiple promotions. He excels both technically and aerially, proving that he’s more than just a one-trick pony. AEW has made it clear through talent like Ospreay that a diverse wrestling style can lead to great success.

It can be said that Ali faced a challenge during his time with WWE, as appearing regularly on 205 Live may have restricted his influence for quite some time before he eventually made it onto the main roster prior to his departure from the company.

After that point, Ali underwent a transformation, adopting a more self-centered persona that firmly believed in his worth. This shift catapulted him to unprecedented success in professional wrestling across North America and even further.

In contemporary wrestling, the term ‘dream matches’ is frequently used to the point of being clichéd. However, imagining Ali facing off against talent such as Kenny Omega, Claudio Castagnoli, Darby Allin, and Will Ospreay could potentially result in unmissable programming across various wrestling genres.

In simpler terms, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is a company that’s seen great success with its secondary titles. It makes perfect sense for the ex-TNA star to aim for titles like the International Championship or the TNT Title. These titles have helped many wrestlers reach a point where they can contend for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship.
