Must-Watch Streaming Hits: 5 New Shows and Movies to Binge This Week!

By now we’ve moved into July, and the weather is warm. This week might offer some leisure time due to the 4th of July holiday approaching. You could choose to utilize this downtime productively, or you could unwind by relaxing in front of the TV with the air conditioning on, exploring fresh content on your preferred streaming service.

This week, one of the most successful movies at the box office is making its way to HBO Max. After a long wait, one of Netflix’s biggest hits will finally have a sequel, and the latest Marvel series on Disney+ comes to an end after just two weeks. Here are some streaming picks you won’t want to miss this week.

Ironheart, Episodes 4-6 – July 1 (Disney+)

Fans have shown strong enthusiasm for the initial three episodes of Marvel Studios’ Ironheart, suggesting a high level of anticipation for the remaining three. If you didn’t let your Disney+ subscription lapse in the meantime, you can catch the finale of this unconventionally released series this week.

The Old Guard 2 – July 2 (Netflix)

Back in the day, “The Old Guard” was a huge success, ranking among Netflix’s top original movies upon its release five years ago. With so much happening since then, it’s natural to wonder if “The Old Guard 2” will live up to expectations. Fans certainly hope that it will! We’ll soon discover the adventures of Charlize Theron and her team of immortals in this eagerly anticipated sequel. It might be a good idea to rewatch the first one, just to refresh your memory before diving into the next installment.

Heads of State – July 2 (Prime Video)

Since the time Harrison Ford battled terrorists in Air Force One, world leaders haven’t shown off their fighting skills like they do in the movie Heads of State. In this film, Idris Elba portrays the British Prime Minister and John Cena plays the President of the United States, who have a mutual dislike for each other. However, when they are both targeted for assassination, they must put aside their differences and work together. The movie promises to be packed with action, humor, and fans are excited to see Elba and Cena bring both the drama and the jokes. This is definitely a good reason to subscribe to Prime Video this week.

The Sandman, Season 2, Volume 1 – July 3 (Netflix)

The debut season of Sandman, adapted from Neil Gaiman’s comic book series, proved successful enough to warrant a second season, despite its high production costs. This week marks the start of episode releases for Season 2. Given this exciting development, it might be worth keeping your Netflix subscription active for the coming weeks.

Sinners – July 4 (HBO Max)

On many occasions, I bring attention to films that were initially screened in cinemas, yet are likely unfamiliar to most viewers. In this instance, I’m delighted to extol the virtues of “Sinners“, a movie that has a good chance of being familiar to you, given it ranks among the highest-grossing standalone films in recent years. If you’re curious about what all the buzz was about or wish to revisit it, you can catch “Sinners ” starting on July 4th with your HBO Max subscription.

As we dive deeper into July, there’s a wealth of highly anticipated series and films set to premiere. Stay tuned as we bring you another roundup of must-watch streaming content coming your way in the days ahead!
