Musician whose band had some of the biggest ’80s hits is seen out with her famous director husband… can you guess who?

She is the founding member of one of the biggest bands of the 1980s.

Following the breakup of her famous band in the late 1980s, she pursued a solo career, though she never achieved the same level of success she had enjoyed as part of the group.

Not only is she a talented singer and guitarist but she also is an actress and an author.

Recently, she’s gained popularity online, amassing almost a million followers and becoming something of an influencer.

Oh my gosh, I just saw her with her husband, the amazing director! Seriously, he’s made some of the funniest, most unforgettable movies for, like, thirty years! I’m so jealous – they’re the perfect couple, and he’s a genius!

Can you guess who the musician is?

It is Susanna Hoffs of The Bangles fame!

I spotted Lulu – she’s 66 and still looks amazing! – out and about in Los Angeles with her husband, Jay Roach, who’s a director. They’re both looking great, and it was lovely to see them enjoying a rare moment together.

In 1981, Susanna started the band with Debbi and Vicki Peterson, and together they achieved hit songs like “Manic Monday,” “Walk Like An Egyptian,” “In Your Room,” and “Eternal Flame.”

She stepped out recently wearing a black puffer jacket, sweatpants, and sneakers, and showed off her natural beauty by going without makeup.

Jay was wearing a black sweater over a striped shirt, paired with indigo jeans and black On sneakers.

He directed a number of well-known comedies, including the Austin Powers films (released in 1997 and 1999) and the Meet the Parents movies (released in 2000 and 2004).

More recently he directed 2019’s Bombshell and The Roses which came out last year.

His wife, a musician, has become popular on Instagram by sharing videos that celebrate aging naturally and show her without makeup.

Susanna still continues to tour with The Bangles after they reunited in the late nineties.

The band recorded their last album Sweetheart of the Sun in 2011.

The band achieved great popularity, but they broke up in 1990. They came back together in 1999 to contribute to the Austin Powers movie, recording the song ‘Get The Girl’ for the film’s soundtrack.

After their initial success, I was thrilled when they hit the road in the early 2000s! They even recorded a new album, ‘Doll Revolution,’ but sadly, it also marked the final departure of Michael Steele from the band, which was really tough to see.

The band had several popular songs, including “Maniac Monday” and “Walk Like An Egyptian,” over the years.

Susanna recently shared that the Bangles almost didn’t release their hit song, “Eternal Flame,” because the other band members initially disliked it.

The singer-songwriter said her bandmates – Vicki Peterson, her sister Debbi, and Micki Steele – didn’t want the song on their third album.

She told The Mirror: ‘The band rejected that song, and I was bereft over it, I was like mortified.

I carried a cassette of Eternal Flame with me constantly, playing it for anyone who would listen and asking for their opinion on a song I’d recently written.

She explained that she’d been very enthusiastic at first, but then the band discussed their third album, ‘Everything,’ and the idea was turned down.

The band had four members, and each person contributed three songs to the album. The process felt forced and created a lot of stress.

While we were working on our final album of the 80s, the producer suddenly suggested including the song ‘Eternal Flame’ on it.

‘And I’m like, “Yes! Please, please'”.

Susanna and Jay married in 1993 and they have two sons together born in 1995 and 1998.
