Mums Just Got a Major Wake-Up Call From Ferne McCann
On Sunday, I stepped out for a delightful Mother’s Day excursion at Ascot’s Spring Family Raceday, and I was proud to be part of the group of glamorous mothers, including Ferne McCann and Binky Felstead.
Previously known TOWIE personality Ferne, aged 34, showcased a chic appearance in a cream gown that boasted substantial straps and a deep-dipped neckline, adorned with buttons.
The woman with two children enhanced her small figure by donning a demure set of brown strappy sandals.
As a die-hard fan, I couldn’t miss the races! I was there, right alongside Ferne and her beloved fiancé Lorri Haines. Our little family unit expanded that day, with our precious daughters – Finty, who’s all of 20 months old, and Sunday, our sweet six-year-old charm. The joy we shared at the races was a memory I’ll cherish forever!
Speaking as a lifestyle enthusiast, I recently found myself drawn to the refined elegance of a timeless double-breasted cream coat, subtly belted at the waist, much like the effortless style showcased by the talented Binky from Made In Chelsea.
She put the jacket on top of a pair of wide-legged trousers that matched, and completed her outfit with black leather boots.

Together with her spouse Max Fredrik Darnton, Binky was spotted holding her youngest son Wilder, aged 23 months, in addition to their sons Wolfie (aged 3) and their daughter India, whom she has with her former partner Joshua ‘JP’ Patterson.
After utilizing her social media accounts to promote breastfeeding, Fern made an appearance at the race event.
In an earlier disclosure this month, I shared that I’m currently nursing my 20-month-old daughter Finty. I wanted to emphasize, just as I encourage other women, that what is considered ‘normal’ is not a one-size-fits-all concept.
A celebrity from Dancing on Ice recently posted a heartwarming photo of herself nursing Finty, with the caption: “I haven’t discussed my breastfeeding experience for some time, but I continue to receive questions about it. However, I am still nursing.
‘In complete honesty, I’ve been a bit nervous to share about it lately.
Though I firmly support breastfeeding, it’s hard to admit that I’ve harbored fears about public opinion as Finty has reached 20 months, considering it’s still being nursed.
If you’re similar to me, continuing to nurse your little one, and you’re questioning whether it’s unusual or feeling pressured to stop at this point, let me assure you… there are many moms who are still breastfeeding beyond the first birthday.
‘Keep going, mamma. However it looks do your normal.’

In July 2023, Ferne got together with Finty and her partner Lorri Haines. Earlier, she had been nurturing her six-year-old child, Sunday, on her own.
Earlier, the reality TV personality openly shared about her challenging experience with breastfeeding on her social media account. She acknowledged and appreciated all those who stood by her during this journey.
She shared that it required an entire team, like a football team, for her to get to where she is currently, and she proudly disclosed that she has been breastfeeding her little daughter.
Ferne commended her companion, Lorri, as well as her mom, for lending their aid when she was in distress. Furthermore, she acknowledged the online group that she reached out to during difficult times.
In the complete Instagram post caption from August, she expressed: ‘This year’s World Breastfeeding Campaign theme, ‘Closing the Gap and Support for All,’ reminded me that I wouldn’t have made it through my breastfeeding journey without the help of others.’
‘It has taken a whole football team to reach the point where we are now.
‘Lack of support is one of the main reasons why mothers don’t continue. It’s vital!

Without a doubt, I couldn’t have continued breastfeeding Finty and persevered through the challenging initial months without these wonderful individuals by my side. Therefore, I felt compelled today to express my gratitude and acknowledge each one of you who has offered their support during this journey.
‘Ranging from the osteopath administering cranial therapy on Finty to ease her jaw and enhance her latch, to the lactation consultant assisting me with Finty’s latch at birth, to the remarkable midwives in our community who encourage all mothers to thrive and never deem a question too trivial.’
To my dear mom, the rock that’s stood by us through it all, no request or favor feels excessive. Your unwavering support as I navigate the challenges of breastfeeding means more than words can express. In those tough moments and endless nights, your understanding and encouragement have been the driving force behind my resilience. Thank you for being there, every step of the way.
And to the amazing breastfeeding community online and on social media, thank you.
When sharing insights on breastfeeding, I acknowledge the potential sensitivity surrounding this topic. My aim is never to cause discomfort or make mothers question their abilities or success. Instead, I strive to provide helpful information and support for those navigating their unique breastfeeding journeys.
I respectfully honor every mother, for I am aware that their role is one of the most challenging tasks on Earth. This statement aims solely at offering encouragement, inspiring, and extending support to the community dedicated to breastfeeding.
‘Because that’s what it’s all about: supporting one another.’
Her touching message was recently posted, following the celebration of her daughter’s first birthday only a few days ago, which she commemorated with a charming video of her baby.
In her recent post, Ferne discusses the challenges she faced while breastfeeding, which comes after a post she made in February of last year.
The supporter extended assistance to mothers on their breastfeeding voyage, expressing regret over the relatively low breastfeeding prevalence in the United Kingdom.
Originally, it was stated that the statistic shows the UK having one of the least breastfeeding rates globally, and the individual encouraged their audience to seek assistance, going as far as inviting queries about breastfeeding directly to their inbox for those embarking on their own breastfeeding adventure.
The person shared data showing that the UK has a low rate of breastfeeding compared to other countries and suggested that people should ask for help if they need it, also offering to provide support by answering questions about their breastfeeding experiences through their email.
She wrote: ‘Not all mothers can breastfeed (it’s truly a private choice!), and it’s regrettable to learn that insufficient support is often the main obstacle for those who wish to attempt it.’
