Mum Life: Sitting on the Toilet for the Kids

Skye Wheatley has given a very surprising insight into her life as a mother.

The 30-year-old social media personality has a family with partner Lachlan Waugh consisting of their son Forest (aged six) and their son Bear (aged three).

On regular days, Skye’s social media posts often showcase the glamorous side of her life. However, on Friday, she clearly shifted into caring, nurturing mom mode.

Skye shared a video on Instagram demonstrating the great measures she’s willing to take for her sons’ well-being.

In the video, you see Skye perched on a toilet while Forest and Bear are heard chuckling behind the scenes.

The television personality flashed a playful grin while waiting patiently as her sons washed up for the evening.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase that as: “In my daily routine, I find myself taking a moment of respite in the bathroom while the little ones tackle their showers – they just can’t seem to let go sometimes!” Skye humorously expressed this relatable scenario in her post.

After her recent visit to the tattoo studio, Skye shared a new post. This came only half a year since she underwent the ‘fox eye lift’ and various beauty enhancements in Turkey last year, which sparked some controversy.

Last month, she appeared in a promotional video for a cosmetic injectables clinic on the Gold Coast. She posted photos of her transformed side profile on Instagram following her chin filler treatment.

Skye captioned her selfie, posted after the use of the $599 injectable, as “Everything’s aligned on my profile view now.

‘My chin used to go back into my head I swear it was shrinking or something.’

Skye travelled to Turkey last year in September to undergo several procedures.

Beyond just mentioning her “fox eye lift,” which she compared to an “angry bird” appearance, she also underwent liposuction on her upper arms and inner thighs, a facelift in the temporal area, and eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty).

In simpler terms, a “temporal lift” refers to a procedure where fat from another part of your body is transferred into your face, aiming to eliminate the requirement for dermal filler injections. A “blepharoplasty,” on the other hand, is a surgical operation that focuses on the eyelids.

The procedure known as “fox eye lift surgery,” which aims to replicate the glamorous red-carpet style of the same name, subtly lifts the outer corners of the eyes to create an almond shape that’s typically associated with artful eye makeup application.

After revealing her plans to undergo surgeries in Turkey, Skye found herself compelled to respond to allegations suggesting an excessive reliance on plastic surgery.

One follower commented on her Instagram, ‘I don’t mean to criticize, but you seem to be the embodiment of the cause for many girls’ self-esteem struggles.’

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I firmly believe that every individual radiates beauty in their unique way, whether they’ve undergone surgeries or not. However, what truly concerns me is the growing trend of people making alterations to their appearance without openly acknowledging it. It’s crucial to maintain transparency and authenticity in our choices, especially when it comes to physical transformations.

There are numerous girls online who have undergone surgical enhancements without disclosing it. I refuse to be part of that group.

Just a couple of weeks later Skye admitted that she suffers from body dysmorphia.

In a heartfelt TikTok post, the victor of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2024 confided: “I believe I might be dealing with mental health issues, and I’ve come to realize that I struggle with body dysmorphia.

I’ve been placing a significant amount of self-imposed stress to achieve perfection. It would devastate and sadden me deeply if my children were to experience the same burden.

‘I do not want them to go through that.’

She also opened up about her failed childhood dreams and admitted she had ‘daddy issues’.

In her younger years, she harbored aspirations of becoming a renowned singer. She nurtured dreams of stardom, but as she grew up and matured, self-doubt began to creep in.

‘I always had this little voice in my head saying, “You’re not good enough”.

Perhaps it could be related to unresolved father-related matters, though I’m uncertain. However, it’s a pattern that’s been with me for quite some time. There’s consistently a voice inside my mind telling me I don’t measure up.
