Recently, Doechii earned an incredible endorsement as she performed alongside Ms. Lauryn Hill at the Jazz in the Gardens Festival in Miami, Florida. This followed her successful run at the Grammys and conquest of Paris Fashion Week, further solidifying her status as the “Swamp Princess”.
On Saturday, Hill was the standout artist during the performance, inviting Florida-native Doechii to join him for an unforgettable rendition of “Doo Wop (That Thing)”. The pair, both winners in the Best Rap Album category – with Hill being the first woman to win and Doechii being the most recent – performed a version of Doechii’s popular song “Denial Is A River” from her album “Alligator Bites Never Heal.
I’m deeply grateful, Miss Lauryn Hill! What an incredible honor for hip-hop! My heart is overflowing with joy! She’s my idol! This moment, blessed by God 🙏, is unforgettable! I’ll never forget this day…EVER!”, Doechii exclaimed in a post on X.
“I never been so nervous in my life 😭 she is a QUEEN.”
