Mr. Iguana Takes Over WWE and Fans Are Loving It!
With numerous established stars fighting for airtime on WWE television, it seems that the year 2025 may not ease this competition. The addition of AAA superstars to the professional wrestling company adds more contenders to the mix. Mr. Iguana, who shone at Worlds Collide, has been highly praised by fellow stars recently, leading me to believe that this unique athlete is primed for future WWE events.
Fans are drawn to wrestlers with unusual personas, and there aren‘t many more peculiar than Mr. Iguana. If someone had told me that I’d be admiring a man adorned with green makeup and carrying a plush toy during the Money In The Bank match, I might have assumed it was part of another streaming series offered through Peacock. Now, I find myself eager to purchase my own T-shirt featuring an iguana design, and I anticipate that such merchandise will soon be available given these positive indications.
JBL Thinks Mr. Iguana Can Do Well In The United States
John Bradshaw Layfield isn’t just well-loved in the WWE, he also co-owns AAA. Given this, it’s no surprise that he’ll speak highly of any wrestler from their roster and boost their profile. With several impressive fighters on AAA’s team, everyone is mesmerized by Mr. Iguana.
In a recent conversation on “Something To Wrestle”, JBL openly admitted to being just as enamored with Mr. Iguana as many others. Moreover, he emphasized that he embodies the character, living up to the gimmick, and possesses extensive knowledge about the reptile he shares his name with.
He’s genuinely fond of iguanas, and it’s not just for show or a passing fancy. He has a deep interest in these reptiles, which is evident from his extensive knowledge about them. When I last spoke to him, he mentioned exploring ideas similar to Ricky Steamboat’s dragon act, but outside the ring to avoid any issues with PETA regarding live animals.
Ricky Steamboat is a remarkable wrestler worth imitating, having been one of the most acclaimed WWE wrestlers who never claimed the top championship. It’s hardly shocking that JBL would mention his name for Mr. Iguana to strive towards, but can he ever attain the same degree of success as “The Dragon”? (In a more casual and engaging manner)
Ricky Steamboat is an incredible wrestler to learn from, being one of the most beloved WWE wrestlers who never won the top belt. It’s hardly surprising that JBL would suggest him for Mr. Iguana to aim high, but can he ever match the level of success “The Dragon” achieved?
JBL believes that Mr. Iguana has the capability to significantly elevate his character. He’s already achieved great success in Mexico, and JBL is confident that with a few adjustments, he’ll resonate well with U.S. audiences too.
As a film enthusiast, I can’t help but acknowledge his genuine nature and astute business acumen. He’s amassed a fortune beyond a million dollars, and it’s clear that this is just the beginning. You’re spot on about the merchandising potential – this kid is a goldmine!
It’s not merely his vibrant appearance or the adorable iguana companion that’s captivating; it’s him. His charm is undeniable, and it transcends borders. What made him successful in Mexico will need to adapt slightly for the U.S., but he’s intelligent enough to navigate these cultural differences effectively. It’s his adaptability that makes this journey a fascinating one to watch.
Currently, it’s an exciting era for wrestlers in the WWE, with Penta captivating audiences consistently. Additionally, Dominik Mysterio holds the Intercontinental Championship after his successful title defense against Octagòn Jr., paving the way for other AAA talents to step up and challenge him. Could Mr. Iguana be the next contender?
Mr. Iguana Received His Own Vignette On Monday Night Raw
It doesn’t surprise me at all that Mr. Iguana is taking on Dominik Mysterio, considering his showcase in the vignette on Monday Night Raw, which can be found on Netflix. For those who may have missed it, the WWE shared it on their social media platforms for everyone to watch.
I’m eager to purchase a plush iguana immediately, and it occurs to me that if the WWE attached a rocket to this toy, it could make for an exciting debut on their main roster. With the lack of comedic wrestling characters following R-Truth’s transformation and Carlito’s departure, I believe this iguana could fill the void quite nicely. In fact, if handled appropriately, he might become a cleaner, more family-friendly version of Goldust that we may see in 2025.

Let’s find out if Mr. Iguana will make an appearance on “SmackDown”, which is broadcast on USA every Friday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. I can’t wait to see which AAA stars might join the WWE team and how this new development will impact one of the most prominent professional wrestling companies.
