In its premiere in January, the new ITV drama titled “Mr Bates vs The Post Office” became their most successful new series in more than ten years, drawing an average audience of approximately 9.8 million viewers throughout all episodes upon its airing.

After achieving great results, ITV has gone ahead and ordered a fresh true-to-life drama series based on the tainted blood scandal, with “Scoop” author Peter Moffat penning it.
