Last night, during the National Television Awards on September 12th, the star unveiled their latest show and garnered three awards for Mr. Bates, with one of them being the Drama Performance category for Jones.

At a backstage press gathering, the performer verified that their upcoming off-screen endeavor, involving the star of “Doctor Who”, is centered around the infamous phone hacking controversy.

Speaking about upcoming projects, he mentioned: “I’ve wrapped up a new movie focusing on Richard Burton’s discovery, tentatively set for release early next year starring Harry Lawtey from ‘Industry’. I’m eager to see if this intriguing project will pique people’s interest.

“There’s a new ITV show about Ruth Ellis that I’m in with Lucy Boynton.”

At present, specifics about the progress of the phone hacking series remain uncertain. Earlier this year, however, it was hinted that the series was being created by writer Jack Thorne, as previously mentioned in The Cinemaholic.
