MPL PH: TNC Yawi hints that his longtime mentor Dogie might be stepping away from esports
The TNC Pro Team’s player, Yawi, believes that Dogie might be leaving the competitive esports scene and aims to conclude Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines Season 15 with a strong performance.
This season, the TNC Pro Team has a unique composition. In the initial fortnight of MPL PH Season 15, they have consistently outperformed teams such as Twisted Minds and AP Bren. However, their defeat at the hands of ONIC PH can be excused, given that ONIC PH are the M5 World Champions.
Clearly, the Phoenix squad has climbed out of their 8th place position from past seasons. A significant portion of this upward trend is due to the impactful influence of Naser “Dogie” Mollazehi, a highly recognized figure within the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports community.
Without a doubt, Dogie’s impact on the MLBB (Mobile Legends: Bang Bang) league in the Philippines is significant. In the early days when the scene was still emerging and managing an esports team came with high costs, he established and led teams such as Aether and Nexplay. As time progressed, and we are now in the 15th season of the league, Dogie persists in nurturing new talents towards the professional level by assisting in the management of TNC Pro Team.
During a post-game interview, Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera, TNC’s star roamer, discussed the significant impact having Dogie as his mentor has had on the team’s victories. Yet, he harbors concerns that the well-known figure in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Philippines might be considering a departure from esports to prioritize his personal life.
Yawi Senses a change in Dogie’s approach to TNC Pro Team
Yawi has been a part of Dogie’s team since their days with Nexplay. Alongside Renejay “Renejay” Barcase and John “H2wo” Salonga, he was one of the three key players, often referred to as The Big Three. This trio significantly contributed to the prominence of Nexplay Esports in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competitive arena.
Ever since Nexplay departed and the trio went their separate ways, quite a lot has shifted in the scene. But when Dogi extended assistance to TNC Pro Team by bringing on board Yawi, it felt like a reunion of sorts – one that sparked memories of our past triumphs, igniting a flame once again.
Under Dogie’s leadership, Yawi has discovered himself in a system that appreciates his abilities, enabling him to flourish and contribute significantly to TNC’s ascent this season. Notably, the stellar roamer expressed that Dogie has adopted a different approach towards the team members during this season.
Initially, I noticed that something about him seemed different right from the start of this season. When we first spoke and he explained to me his communication style, it was strikingly focused this time around. Moreover, there’s an entirely new passion in him now – for us, for TNC. That’s why I said that he indeed seems different as our boss this season.
Initially, it struck me that something was off about him at the start of this season. During our first conversation after he recruited me, there was a certain intensity in his words—it seemed like he had a renewed focus for this season. Additionally, his enthusiasm appears altered, both towards us and TNC, which is why I mentioned that he’s acting quite differently as our leader in this season.
As a dedicated gamer, I pondered about why there seems to be a shift in Dogie’s gameplay lately. It struck me that he might be wrapping up his competitive gaming career soon, moving on to new challenges or perhaps just taking a well-deserved break from the esports scene.
Yawi seems to believe that Boss D (Dogie) might be about to leave the esports world soon, which is why he doesn’t want to waste this opportunity while he’s still here. After all, Boss D is getting older and has other priorities too. So it appears as though he’s making the most of his time in esports for now.
It appears that he may be planning to depart from the world of esports soon, which is why he’s eager to take advantage of the opportunities while they still exist. After all, Boss D (Dogie) is getting older and has other commitments now, making it seem like he’s making the most of his time in the esports scene.
It appears that Dogie might be planning to conclude his career in the esports world soon, but he’s committed to ensuring a spectacular farewell by maximizing TNC Pro Team’s performance before moving on to other commitments. Regardless of whether he remains or departs, his impact on Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) and the growth of the Philippine esports scene will be indelible.
