MPL Malaysia brings Hollywood action to the Land of Dawn with Predator: Badlands

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is expanding its reach! MPL Malaysia has partnered with the new sci-fi action movie, Predator: Badlands, for a special collaboration. This means fans can expect to see elements from the Predator universe within MLBB, including on official broadcasts, league channels, and at a special fan screening of the film.

The new movie takes place on a dangerous planet in the future, and tells the story of a young Predator who doesn’t fit in. He teams up with an unexpected ally as he searches for the strongest fighter. It’s currently playing in Malaysian cinemas, building excitement for this unique crossover.

Krystal Tan, Head of Business Development for Malaysia Esports at MOONTON Games, announced that this partnership marks the league’s second collaboration with a major Disney franchise this season, following a previous tie-in with Tron: Ares. She explained that these kinds of collaborations demonstrate how MPL Malaysia and esports are becoming significant parts of youth culture.

From Soloz to 7GL, Malaysia’s stars unite under “Children of MLBB”

To mark its 9th anniversary, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) launched a campaign called “Children of MLBB,” originally known as “Kami Anak MLBB.” The campaign stars well-known Malaysian creator Soloz (Muhammad Faris Zakaria), whose life was the inspiration behind the movie *Game of Life*. Other popular creators, including 7GL, are also participating.

Soloz thanked the Mobile Legends community, emphasizing that “Kami Anak MLBB” isn’t just a saying, but a core part of their identity. To add to the excitement, MOONTON Games surprised fans by granting a birthday wish during a live stream – giving all Malaysian players an exclusive skin. This reward became available at midnight on October 13th and will last for 48 hours.

In esports, SRG secured a spot in the Upper Bracket Playoffs after a dominant Week 5, winning against Team Rey and Monster Vicious to take the lead with 21 points. CG Esports had a setback with a 1-2 loss to Homebois, but they’re still in contention for another Upper Bracket spot with 18 points in MPL MY Season 15.
