Movistar KOI wins LEC Spring 2025 with more than 500,000 peak viewers

As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that Movistar KOI players capped off their LEC Spring 2025 campaign with a triumphant victory, drawing in an impressive viewership of over half a million spectators who tuned in to catch the exhilarating esports action. With MSI 2025 on the horizon, I can hardly contain my excitement for what’s to come!

Following multiple weeks of intense esports competition, the players from Movistar KOI emerged victorious in the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) Spring 2025, thereby qualifying for the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI 2025). Notably, their triumph also earned them over half a million simultaneous viewers.

Movistar KOI wins LEC Spring 2025

On June 8th, Movistar KOI battled it out with G2 Esports during the LEC 2025 Spring Playoffs. Not only did Movistar KOI secure a 3-1 victory, but they also claimed the majority of the €80,000 prize money. This success qualified them for both MSI 2025 and the League of Legends tournament in this year’s Esports World Cup (EWC).

In simple terms, OverActive Media CEO Adam Adamou expressed that this victory, marking their fourth LEC title and first under the Movistar KOI banner, is a remarkable achievement. He’s extremely proud of his team members – players, coaches, and staff – and he acknowledges the significant role played by the fans, as their enthusiasm fuels the organization.

Adamou went on to explain that the win symbolizes far more than just a trophy. Instead, it underscores OverActive Media’s extensive and sustained efforts in bringing together talent, resources, and community on a global scale. He further mentioned that Movistar KOI is excited about continuing its journey on the international platform, with MSI 2025 set to take place in Canada.

As a gaming enthusiast hailing from the Great White North, I’m proud to be a part of OverActive Media, which calls Canada home and competes as Movistar KOI in the circuit. It’s an honor to stand alongside my fellow Canadian teammate, Joseph Joon “Jojopyun” Pyun, who grabs the title of being the first North American gamer to secure a starting position and clinch a championship in the LEC. Here are his thoughts on this historic win – check it out below!

LEC Spring 2025 viewership

In addition to their strong performance on the field, Movistar KOI significantly contributed to the popularity of LEC Spring 2025 online. As reported by Esports Charts, the event garnered over half a million peak viewers, surpassed 32.6 million hours watched, and averaged approximately 228,000 viewers per minute. Notably, Movistar KOI was responsible for the top three most-watched matches of the entire season.

In April of this year, the event known as the LEC Roadtrip 2025 in Madrid, where Movistar KOI participated, gained significant attention and viewership. Over three hundred forty-eight thousand people simultaneously watched at the peak during the event held from April 26 to 27. As reported by OverActive Media, who manages Movistar KOI within the circuit, LEC Roadtrip 2025 also drew more than eighteen thousand attendees. This made it a significant achievement in regional live esports competition.
