As I geared up for the penultimate day of IEM Cologne 2025, the semi-finals were upon us, with MOUZ and Team Vitality squaring off for a coveted spot in the grand final. Known for their dominance throughout the Group Stage, where they didn’t drop a single game, Vitality seemed unbeatable. On the other hand, MOUZ had a nail-biting encounter against FURIA during the quarterfinals, which made me nervous. With a history of close calls against Vitality this year and no series victories under our belt in 2025, this was our opportunity to make a statement at the Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2025. MOUZ topple Team Vitality at IEM Cologne

Stepping into the second map against Team Vitality at IEM Cologne 2025, I, as a diehard fan of MOUZ, was eagerly anticipating an upset. With the advantage at the switch, MOUZ skillfully dampened the spirits of the Vitality supporters. As we approached a nerve-wracking conclusion, MOUZ held their ground and ultimately clinched our long-awaited series victory over Vitality since IEM Rio 2024.

For the first time in six years since IEM Katowice 2025, Team Vitality won’t be competing in the grand finals or claiming victory at a CS:2 tournament. Meanwhile, MOUZ will have the opportunity to fight for the title of champions at IEM Cologne, having defeated Team Vitality decisively.
