Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios are commemorating the 10th Anniversary of their popular 3v3 action-fueled fighting game, Mortal Kombat Mobile, with a fresh update on March 25, 2025. This special anniversary update will feature two thrilling new characters, plus some free in-game rewards and additional content. So, let’s delve into the details and see what awaits us!

Mortal Kombat Mobile is a thrilling 3 versus 3 combat game set within the Mortal Kombat universe, showcasing classic figures such as Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, and others. It provides numerous engaging game modes and brings back these cherished characters and tales from the franchise’s 30-year history.

Ever since its launch on May 4, 2015, this game has significantly grown its cast to accommodate over 175 beloved fighters from all Mortal Kombat eras. To mark its 10th anniversary, it’s adding two new characters, offering free in-game gifts, and more!

Mortal Kombat Mobile’s 10th-anniversary update introduces MK1 Geras and Klassic Skarlet

I can’t wait for the 10-year anniversary event! Mortal Kombat Mobile is introducing two fresh characters: MK1 Geras and Classic Skarlet, enriching the collection of legendary combatants.

The 10th Anniversary celebration is something I’m really looking forward to because Mortal Kombat Mobile is going to add two new fighters, called MK1 Geras and Classic Skarlet, to its roster of famous warriors.

You can secure both of them through the 10th Anniversary Kombat Pass. Additionally, you’ll get the Diamond MK1 Geras by finishing the Premium Pass, and the Premium+ Pass will grant you MK1 Geras, along with early access to Gold Klassic Skarlet before others.

MK1 Geras

The character named MK1 Geras is a strong guardian from Liu Kang’s New Era who specializes in managing time and sand. With his ability called “Sands of Time,” you can activate an hourglass, which not only reduces damage received but also restores the health of your team.

In a more engaging manner, the title “His Colliding Worlds’ Fatal Blow” can be rephrased as “His Deadly Time-Loop Strike,” which references the legendary Mortal Kombat 1 move and implies that the victim experiences their demise twice by being thrown into a time portal.

Klassic Skarlet

In the style of Classic Scarlet, reminiscent of her MK 11 Classic appearance, this character is a practitioner of dark magic who becomes increasingly bloodthirsty with each fight. Her special skills allow her to siphon the vitality from her adversaries, rendering them weak, and bolster her own power.

Additionally, she can help boost the unblockable chance of your Basic Attacks, making her an invaluable asset to your squad, particularly for Klassic teams.

Mortal Kombat Mobile 10th Anniversary Login Event

With the addition of two new combatants, the game is also providing a free character for ten consecutive days as part of a special 10th Anniversary Login Event. To obtain this character, simply log in each day from April 1st to April 10th. During this time, you’ll not only receive your prize but also learn about their background within the Mortal Kombat Universe and how they came to be on mobile.

As a gamer, I’ve got some awesome characters up for grabs to celebrate the 10th Anniversary! Here they are: MK11 Scorpion, Classic Noob Saibot, Sharp Mileena, Edenian Blood Kitana, Thundergod Raiden, Lizard Jade, Grandmaster Sub-Zero, Classic Sonya Blade, Onslaught Jax Briggs, and Fire God Liu Kang. I can’t wait to see these fighters in action!

Faction Wars Remaster

You’re in for an exciting time! The classic game Faction Wars is being upgraded to the intense Realm Klash, where it’s Realm against Realm in a full-scale war. This revamped game mode will be accessible from March 26, 2025. The first part of this update will bring a fresh new appearance and enhanced rewards for those who top the leaderboards.

Tower of Time Event 

The Anniversary update introduces a special event called the “Tower of Time Event,” which will be open for participation until April 10, 2025. In this limited-time tower, which spans across 50 levels, you’ll encounter new bosses such as MK1 Geras. Additionally, participating in this event offers the opportunity to acquire fresh equipment.

In spite of some apprehensions about the future of Mortal Kombat games following last year’s job cuts, this anniversary celebration seems to contradict those fears. Here’s hoping that Mortal Kombat Mobile continues for a long time yet, introducing additional legendary characters, events, and features along the way.
