Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack 3: Is it happening?
Here’s the latest on Mortal Kombat 1’s future.
As a die-hard Mortal Kombat fan, I’ve been buzzing about the rumors surrounding Mortal Kombat 1. A mysterious Reddit user named FateUnknown dropped some intel suggesting that there won’t be any new installments or even a potential Kombat Pack 3 in the pipeline. But, just when I thought it was all over, the game has seen a comeback and some fresh data mined info has given us gamers a spark of optimism.
Here is everything we know about the status of Mortal Kombat 1 and what could happen in the future.
Why do people think future MK1 DLC is not happening?
FateUnknown is a recognized leaker in the Mortal Kombat community who has a reputation for accurately revealing details about games before they’re launched, such as MK1. Prior to deleting their Reddit account, FateUnknown claimed that there wouldn’t be a Kombat Pack 3 for Mortal Kombat 1.
Various news platforms and Mortal Kombat enthusiasts spread the news, overwhelming the game’s official social media with queries and apprehensions. Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios (NRS) kept mum about the potential continuation of MK1. Amidst uncertainty, a trusted data miner named Interloko hinted at possible future DLC.
Is Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack 3 happening?
In a video shared on January 24th, Interloko delved into the game files and uncovered hints suggesting that Kombat Pack 3 might be in the works. He stated with certainty that the upcoming character T-1000 is not the last downloadable content for this game. Moreover, Interloko pointed out that there are 20 potential slots for additional content within the game; 12 have been utilized so far.
As a devoted gamer, I’m thrilled to share some fresh updates about our favorite game, Mortal Kombat, straight from the horse’s mouth – Ed Boon himself! He recently posted an update on platform X (previously known as Twitter), giving us a sneak peek into the recent developments and what lies ahead.
In one of his posts, he mentioned that they are pumped up about continuing to develop more DLC for the T-1000 character. To sweeten the deal, he even shared a tantalizing glimpse of the T-1000’s Fatality! So, buckle up, fellow gamers, it seems like there’s more action coming our way!
Though it might seem like the focus is on the clearly visible truck in the image, Ed Boon is well-known for his mysterious social media messages. By delving into Interloko’s files and deciphering Ed Boon’s hidden clues, players have grown optimistic that Mortal Kombat 1 may yet have some life left in it.
Which characters could feature in KP3? (Spoiler Warning)
This part might reveal some spoilers, so you might consider skipping if you’d rather not find out about possible characters for Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack 3. According to Interloko, it looks like Kotal Kahn, a character introduced in Mortal Kombat X, is being considered as a potential addition to Kombat Pack 3.
There’s been a lot of interest in Kotal Kahn, but some fans have wondered why NetherRealm might include him given their resemblance to Conan. Although Kotal possesses a wider array of skills, they are both formidable warriors who wield large swords.
In their recent statement, Interloko didn’t give any hints about additional possible characters for KP3. However, the arrival of T-1000 in March means we can expect to learn more about the future of Mortal Kombat 1 shortly.
