Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns Launch Trailer Offers a Glimpse at the New Storyline
As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for Mortal Kombat and a soft spot for the 90s nostalgia, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming release of Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns! Growing up on the original games, I fondly remember the days when Liu Kang and Scorpion ruled the arcade halls. The new trailer has brought back those memories in a heartbeat, with its electrifying action and that iconic theme song that still gives me goosebumps.
WB Games recently unveiled the debut trailer for their upcoming title, “Mortal Kombat 1: Chaos Rules,” which is set to hit stores in a week’s time.
The new video offers a closer look at the expansion’s new storyline, which picks up where Mortal Kombat 1‘s narrative left off, as a new threat emerges from an alternate timeline, led by the ruthless Titan Havik.
Liu Kang, the Fire God, must gather his team of champions once again to preserve the upcoming Era of tranquility, as chaos threatens to disrupt the harmony across all realms. This tumultuous era will introduce three new characters: Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot. Later in the battle, the T-1000 Terminator, the Ghostface antagonist(s), and Conan the Barbarian will join the fray.
The trailer additionally highlights Ghostface’s initial deadly move, plus additional glimpses into the Animality finishers set to be incorporated into Mortal Kombat 1, all as part of a free update. Additionally, it previews the comeback of Towers of Time, featuring its ever-changing challenges and in-game activities.
The free update will be available simultaneously with Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns on the 24th of September. This update is compatible with Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms. By pre-ordering the game, you’ll gain early access to special bonus skins for Wedding Scorpion, Empress Mileena, and both Sub-Zero and Noob Saibot in their klassic Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 versions.
