Morgan Wallen is facing strong criticism from another musician in Nashville, who has accused him of racism. This comes four years after a previous controversy involving Wallen using a racial slur, and after video footage from his 2024 arrest was released.
Well-known singer Hayley Williams has verified that the lyrics in her song referencing a ‘racist country singer’ were specifically about the artist behind the hit song “I’m The Problem,” who is 31 years old. She even stated where she could be found if he wished to discuss it with her.
She first released the song “Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party” in July, featuring the lyrics: ‘I’ll be the biggest star at this racist country singer’s bar’ in its chorus.
During an appearance on the New York Times’ Popcast podcast, Paramore‘s lead singer initially avoided answering who a particular lyric was about, but eventually revealed the story behind it.
Hayley mentioned it might be a possibility, but she quickly added that she frequently talks about Morgan Wallen and doesn’t care what others think. She stated, ‘It could be a couple but I’m always talking about Morgan Wallen, I don’t give a s.’
The singer who created the song “Parachute” also stated that if Morgan Wallen had a problem with what she said, he could locate her at a well-known organic food store.

She defiantly said: ‘Find me at Whole Foods b****, I don’t care.’
Morgan Wallen’s career faced a temporary setback after a video surfaced in February 2021 showing him using a racial slur – the N-word – while intoxicated outside his house.
Initially, several large companies that control many radio stations prohibited him from being played. However, after only four months, those same owners discreetly permitted stations to play Wallen’s music if they chose to.
The controversy surrounding Wallen’s use of the N-word the following year sparked widespread public criticism. However, surprisingly, his fans reacted by increasing their consumption of his music, resulting in a 500 percent jump in streaming numbers. This showed a response to the offensive slur by actively supporting his work.
During an interview on Good Morning America, Michael Strahan questioned Morgan Wallen about whether the recent increase in streams could indicate underlying racism within the country music industry. According to The Daily Beast, Wallen responded that he ‘hadn’t really thought about that.’
Following the controversy surrounding his use of a racial slur, the singer initially indicated he wanted to meet with the Nashville NAACP. However, TMZ later reported that he stopped responding to their calls and continued with his tour schedule.
Wallen is country music’s current reigning king of controversy.
As a big fan, it was really tough to see the footage released this Wednesday. It shows Morgan Wallen telling police he didn’t throw that chair off the roof of a Nashville bar. This is from the April 2024 incident – you’ll remember, he later pleaded guilty. It’s just a really unpleasant situation, and I’m hoping he learns from it.

A popular country music singer was arrested after throwing a chair from the sixth floor of Eric Church’s bar, Chiefs. The chair fell to the street and landed near a group of police officers.
Recently released body cam footage shows Morgan Wallen’s surprising five-word reply when police questioned him about the incident.
The musician was in the back of a police car, maintaining his innocence. He told the officers: ‘I haven’t done anything wrong.‘
Previously in the video, Wallen didn’t take responsibility for what occurred. When a police officer asked him to explain the situation, he simply replied: ‘I don’t know.‘
Someone else was then heard stating, ‘He was the one who threw the chair,’ while another individual maintained that the famous musician wasn’t involved at all.

Later in the video, Wallen explained to the police: ‘We’re not trying to cause any trouble, officer. I don’t understand what they’re… I’m not sure why this is happening.’
One of the officers replied, explaining that they were simply trying to understand what happened.
Wallen replied: ‘As you should.’
In December 2024, the singer of “Cowgirls” smiled in court while admitting guilt related to the April 2024 event where he threw a chair from the roof of a bar in Nashville.
The famous country singer admitted guilt to two minor charges of putting others at risk in a Nashville, Tennessee courtroom on Thursday. This happened seven months after he initially skipped his first court date.
The charges were lowered from the three Class E felonies he originally faced eight months ago.
Wallen received a seven-day sentence requiring him to attend a DUI education center, followed by two years of supervised probation. He had to complete the education program before starting his probation.
