Morgan Wade Stops Concert to Pray for Teddi Mellencamp’s Emergency Brain Surgery
During her concert in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening, Morgan Wade momentarily stopped the show to request her audience to offer prayers for her friend Teddi Mellencamp, who had an emergency brain surgery not long ago.
30-year-old country artist, who crossed paths with a former cast member of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (aged 43) thanks to their mutual friend Kyle Richards, found herself moved while performing at El Rey Theatre. This emotional response stemmed from the noticeable absence of Mellencamp amidst the bustling audience as she mused over the situation.
She kindly requested the audience to offer a prayer for her friend Teddi Mellencamp upon leaving. She had visited her not long ago, around a week back, when Teddi unexpectedly required emergency brain surgery to remove some tumors.
Wade commented, observing that Mellencamp would have been present if not for her ongoing recovery after surgery, as he was brought up in the Southern Baptist faith.
Following a spectator’s proposal to unite in prayer, Wade paused her performance to request divine protection for the daughter of renowned rock artist John Mellencamp.
In a sincere plea, she asked, “Dear God, could you please extend your caring hand towards Teddi? Help guide her and see her safely through this difficult time. Grant her strength, for she is a remarkable person and a loving mother.
Later on, her followers echoed her with an ‘Amen’, just as Wade recounted a humorous incident where Teddi playfully teased her upon arriving at the hospital, following her rush to be by her side.
The artist reflected that she remained authentic, expressing her backing towards the reality TV personality, who was touched that Wade didn’t act any less kindly towards her during their time at the hospital.
10 days ago, Teddi posted a video featuring Wade and Richards, who were with her in her hospital room before her imminent operation within the next 10 minutes.
On her Instagram post, Mellencamp disclosed that she had been diagnosed with tumors after enduring ‘several weeks’ of intense, disabling headaches.
She mentioned that two larger tumors will be surgically removed today, while smaller ones will be treated with radiation at a future time.
The devastating news comes amid her battle with skin cancer, which began in 2022.
It remains undetermined if the found growth is a specific kind of tumor, but it’s important to note that skin cancer can potentially metastasize (spread) to the brain, resulting in what are called brain metastases.
For a few weeks now, I’ve been battling intense and disabling migraines. Yesterday, the agony became excruciating and necessitated a trip to the hospital, as stated by Mellencamp, the daughter of renowned American singer John Mellencamp.

Following both a CT scan and an MRI, medical professionals discovered numerous brain tumors that appeared to have developed over a period of at least half a year.
Today, we’ll be performing surgeries to remove two of the tumors. The smaller ones will be treated with radiation at a later time.
In my world, I’m fortunate to find myself enveloped by the love and support of my cherished offspring, dear relatives, trusted companions, skilled physicians, diligent nurses, and dedicated surgeons. Together, we’re making every effort to guide me towards a healthier tomorrow.
‘Thank you everybody who has reached out, and to everyone who has supported me along this journey.’
On her Instagram Stories, it seemed like Mellencamp was getting ready for a surgical procedure, as evidenced by an initial post featuring herself clad in a hospital gown, reclining on a bed with numerous gadgets positioned on her forehead.

In her post, she expressed excitement by saying, ‘I’m eagerly waiting for the moments when my little ones arrive.’ Her father also shared words of wisdom this morning, ‘God tends to give challenging situations to those who are capable of overcoming them.’
‘It’s a hard day but I have faith and amazing surgeons and know everything will be ok.’
In a subsequent video, Teddi’s hair was shaved off by a friend.
As her pal clipped off her long hair, Teddi tried to remain positive amid the scary circumstances.
As a lifestyle expert, I share my personal experience: Two years ago, I was diagnosed with stage two melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer that claims around 10,000 lives annually. This journey has been an eye-opener for me, emphasizing the importance of regular skin checks and sun protection practices to prevent this devastating disease.

As reported by the Centers for Disease Control, melanoma ranks as the fifth most frequently diagnosed cancer in males, while it’s the sixth most prevalent among females.
Approximately twenty surgeries have been performed on the Certified Wellness Coach since her initial cancer diagnosis, aimed at combating the disease.
According to E! News, she had her most significant operation, a procedure involving the removal of a large area affected by melanoma, followed by the restoration and reshaping of the surrounding tissue, which took place in December 2023.
This is the surgery that left her with the large, zig-zag scar across her back and shoulder.

In December, Mellencamp expressed her relief as she wouldn’t need another skin biopsy after two years of regular examinations.
‘I just got done having a little cry, but it’s a good one,’ she said.
For the past two years and for the first time during my three-month check-up, there was no need for a biopsy as another cancerous lesion was detected.
‘Oh my gosh, such a good feeling,’ she added.
In November 2024, Teddi announced her split from husband Edwin Arroyave.

The former couple share three children: Slate, 12, son Cruz, 10, and daughter Dove, four.
In a 2023 episode of her podcast, Two Ts in a Pod, she had earlier suggested that there had been difficulties in their married life.
She shared that for quite some time, she harbored a deep resentment against Edwin, and this feeling grew to such an extent that she found it difficult to even meet his gaze.
1) “It’s been a significant help that we’ve managed to navigate our challenges. However, just as with a burn, recovering can be extremely difficult after an initial experience.
