On September 7th, the suspenseful British legal drama titled “The Killing Kind,” featuring Colin Morgan from “Merlin,” will be available on Netflix.
According to a popular streaming service, the six-episode adaptation of Jane Casey’s novel can be found in their ‘not-to-be-missed’ collection.
First appearing in 2023, this drama centers around Ingrid Lewis, portrayed by Emma Appleton, a prominent lawyer. However, her life takes an unsettling turn when she becomes the target of stalking by John Webster, the very individual she had once represented in court.
As a devoted admirer, I’d recount it like this: “From what I’ve gathered, Webster faced allegations of harassment and stalking from an ex-partner. In a surprising turn of events, during the trial, his defender was none other than Ingrid, who managed to clear his name. After the court case, Ingrid found herself drawn towards Webster, a bond that eventually became too intimate. However, when she decided it was time to part ways, Webster reacted adversely and her life took a dramatic turn for the worse.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that some familiar faces from my favorite shows are joining forces for this exciting project! Elliot Barnes-Worrell from Jericho, Olivia D’Lima from Casualty, Sara Powell from Unforgotten, and Nicholas Rowe from A Very British Scandal will all be part of the ensemble. What a treat it is to look forward to their performances!
Although The Killing Kind hasn’t received an official rating on Rotten Tomatoes as of now, it has managed to win over critics with its performances and storyline.
According to The London Evening Standard, the captivating blend of Ingrid and John’s enigmatic relationship reminiscent of Fatal Attraction, along with the story’s constant surprises and suspenseful turns, creates a nerve-wracking experience that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Enthusiasts of gripping, dark mysteries will appreciate watching “The Killing Kind“, as suggested by “Common Sense Media“.
Simultaneously, Yahoo! Movies commented: “The Killing Kind” is a somber courtroom drama that conceals foreseeable plot turns with effective music selections and innovative cinematography. Fortunately, this slick example of mediocrity is elevated by an outstanding ensemble cast delivering strong performances.
Initially when the series was unveiled, Morgan expressed that delving into a more intricate and mysterious character alongside John Webster proved both eye-opening and delightful.
Working alongside the talented Emma Appleton has been an absolute standout experience, joining forces with an extraordinary ensemble. From the get-go, the story captured my attention completely.
The Killing Kind will land on Netflix on 7th September.
