Monty Don has revealed he was rushed to hospital with a mystery illness over the weekend.

In an Instagram post, the 69-year-old host shared the news and expressed his regrets over having to abruptly cancel some scheduled performances.

As an over-the-moon admirer, let me share that back in 2008, Monty, the legend himself, underwent a minor health scare – a stroke. However, being the trooper he is, he endured three whole days of hospital observation, proving yet again his indomitable spirit.

He expressed his apologies for not living up to the expectations of everyone planning to attend him in Exeter, Truro, Bath, and Nottingham.

On a Friday afternoon, I found myself urgently taken to the emergency room (A&E). For three consecutive days, from Saturday through Monday, I remained hospitalized. During this period, I required intravenous fluids (drips) and numerous other treatments.
