Despite initial doubts, Monster Hunter Wilds is receiving more positive reviews on Steam after a recent update improved its performance.
Capcom promised three updates to improve performance in Monster Hunter Wilds. After a disappointing patch in December and the discovery of a performance bug linked to downloadable content, players were eagerly awaiting the second update. Surprisingly, the latest PC patch appears to have successfully fixed the game’s performance issues, exceeding many fans’ expectations.
So, the new patch really seems to have helped! I’ve been checking Steam, and the game’s getting a lot more positive reviews now. It’s moved from being mostly negative to “Mixed” overall, and a whopping 57% of recent reviews are positive. Definitely a good sign for Monster Hunter Wilds!
Players are praising Capcom for resolving the game’s performance issues. One player said the game was great before the optimization patch and now runs even smoother, while another highlighted the excellent combat and now fully recommends the game due to the fixes.
Despite the initial criticism, many players are now happy with the game, noting it should have launched in this state. One review stated it’s ‘better late than never’ and the game is now much more fun due to improved performance. Another player said they can finally recommend the game to others. They also urged Capcom to focus on performance for future expansions, hoping to avoid a repeat of the issues seen with the ‘Wilds’ expansion, which had performance problems for a year. Hopefully, Capcom will take this feedback to heart.
