Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test to be Held Next Week With Cross-Play Support

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can confidently say that the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test has piqued my interest. With a rich history of hunting colossal beasts across various titles, I’ve always been intrigued by the lore and gameplay mechanics Capcom brings to the table.

Next week, Capcom is organizing a Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test. This event offers you an opportunity to engage in three distinct experiences: a Story Quest, an open hunt for Doshaguma, and character customization using the Character Creation tool. Any character you create during this beta will be usable when the game officially releases in February 2025.

Before starting the Open Beta Test, you’ll first witness an opening scene and receive some fundamental tutorials. During these, you’ll go after a Chatacabra, serving as a warm-up for your main quest: tracking down the Alpha of a Doshaguma pack in the Windward Plains. You can opt to play alone, summon allies by sending an SOS signal (up to four players can join), or request assistance from NPC Support Hunters.

The beta testing for Monster Hunter Wilds commences across Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC on October 31st at 8pm PT, concluding on November 3rd at 6:59pm PT after a three-day exclusive access period for PlayStation Plus subscribers on PS5. Cross-platform play will be available, and taking part grants you the Pendant weapon and mount decoration bonus, in addition to an item pack for the complete game.

Check out the latest Monster Hunter Wilds trailer below for a glimpse of its perilous Oilwell Basin environment. Home to the enigmatic ‘Black Flame’ monster, this region features explosive Firespring bursts, active oil wells, and the challenging Brute Wyvern Rompolopolo. Be cautious while traversing the Oilwell Basin as you’ll also encounter its fierce territorial rival, the Ajarakan.

On the 28th of February, 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds will be released for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and personal computers. Check out the video below to catch a glimpse of the ‘Black Flame’ and Oilwell Basin area in this exciting new expansion!
