Good news for Monster Hunter fans! While a big expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds is on the way, a new Monster Hunter Stories game, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, will be released in just a few weeks. A new trailer, narrated by Elizabeth Rose Bloodblame from Hololive English, gives a look at the game’s story and explains the background of the Riders.
In the Monster Hunter Stories games, you play as a Rider who teams up with Monsters called Monstees to battle together. Rathalos, a powerful Monster, is usually central to the story. However, in Monster Hunter Stories 3, there are two Rathalos. One partners with the prince of Azuria, and the other is ridden by Princess Eleanor of Vermeil, putting them on opposing sides of the conflict.
Despite their differences, they still work together, particularly when the Crystal Encroachment puts the entire world at risk. Players team up with the Rangers to restore habitats, which involves fighting off invasive creatures, saving monster eggs, hatching those eggs, and then releasing the monsters back into their natural environment. By doing this, you can earn unique, powerful Monstees with special elemental abilities.
The game also features many other challenging monsters, including favorites like Rey Dau and Arkveld, and even Yama Tsukami, who originally appeared in Monster Hunter 2. Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection arrives on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 on March 13th, and a free demo is available – you can even carry your progress over to the full game!
