MomTok war breaks out between Taylor Frankie Paul and Secret Wives of Mormon Wives cast over shady post
As a seasoned observer of reality TV drama, I must say this latest episode involving Taylor and her Mormon Wives crew has been quite a rollercoaster ride. It seems that the girls are navigating through the complexities of friendship and fame with all the finesse of a group of modern-day Salem witches brewing up their next potion.
Over the past weekend, a social media squabble erupted between Taylor, Frankie, and Paul – my all-time favorite stars from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives! I just can’t get enough of their dynamic on the show, and now it seems like there’s some behind-the-scenes drama unfolding. Let’s see how this unfolds!
30-year-old reality TV star publicly criticized her fellow cast members for failing to back her up following her performance at the Country Music Association (CMA) Awards on Wednesday.
She wrote in an Instagram story that none of the girls from Momtok responded to her comment on the CMA post.
Then, she added that it was ‘awkward’ as she pointed out it was ‘such a big night for me.’
After the post, her fellow cast members began posting their bills as a reaction to the influencer, who has suggested a reunion with Dakota Mortensen, her child’s father.
Not long after, Jessi Ngatikaura shared a screenshot of her direct message conversation with Paul on her Instagram Story, as reported by Us Weekly.
‘Tay I literally posted you on my story. Are you for real?’
She added: “Additionally, I reshared your TikTok under CMA and texted you throughout the entire day while I was there to cheer you on.
As an ardent admirer, I find this unexpected share rather intriguing. It’s almost like a dance where the steps are reversed – I can’t help but wonder why this move was chosen over a direct approach. Still, if it’s a way to express yourself, I guess that’s cool.
Additionally, she made a remark detailing all the instances where she demonstrated backing for Paul, yet failed to receive recognition in her questionable publication.
Oops, I completely spaced on commenting even though I’m enjoying a vacation with my loved ones and scrolling excessively,” she wrote with a touch of irony, accompanied by a hand-over-mouth emoji. “I must be the least dependable friend! Please forgive me, Taylor Swift, as I now bow in humble apologies.
She mentioned that she shared the CMA’s TikTok featuring you, posted a story about you, and texted you throughout the day to congratulate and cheer you on.
Additionally, Ngatikaura stated that she “liked” the post and extended an offer of “free clip-ins for filming and events similar to this” not only to her friend but also to her mother.
In response to a social media user implying that Ngatikaura was fabricating drama to boost the audience of their show, the reality star retaliated.
In her Instagram post, she stated, ‘I refuse to be part of any online narrative or plot.’ She accompanied this message with a screenshot of the remark for clarity.
‘As things appear, that’s how they are. But if you could glimpse what happens out of sight, you would understand better.’ (She went on to explain further.)
‘We don’t need to make things up — our group just has things happen. Case in point — today.’
In response to Paul’s statements, it appears that Demi Engemann, their co-star, shared a sequence of mysterious quotes on her personal Instagram Story as well.
‘Projection is so funny when you’re self-aware ’cause people really can’t see outside of their *own* perspective and experiences. Like honey nothing you said has s*** to do with me. Sounds like this is actually about you,’ the quote read.
Alongside the quote, Engemann wrote: ‘IYKYK.’
She also shared another quote, which read: ‘Being called sensitive for reacting to disrespect is manipulation at its finest.’
Mikayla Matthews and Mayci Neeley, despite their positive responses beneath Paul’s post, also recognized the drama in a TikTok update.
Matthews admitted that she did not comment on Paul’s Instagram post.
Given that everyone has been made public, I feel compelled to reveal another secret. I noticed Taylor didn’t post yesterday,” she penned next to a video of her mimicking a popular Family Guy soundbite.
‘What?’ Neeley responded before Matthews added, ‘I didn’t comment either.’
Matthews captioned her post: ‘Hope this clears things up.’
Shortly after that, Paul posted on her Instagram Story once more, this time expressing her feelings about the situation. On the initial clip, she penned, ‘I felt disconnected when I saw WHOLE.’
She then added: ‘I don’t think I’m queen, just felt pettiness so I came back petty per usual.’
Paul went on to explain, ‘I may have stepped on some toes, perhaps more than intended. However, let me clarify that this narrative isn’t fabricated. It was something I came up with myself. I found it odd when all my friends fell silent. To be clear, I never implied that any of them aren’t supportive; they all are, without exception. I merely felt a sense of unease, which led me to create a small post about it. Was anyone surprised by my response?’
She mentioned: ‘Given that Demi is the one who reacts most strongly to this issue, it’s intriguing because she called me recently stating, “I feel like you aren’t backing me up on social media.” Therefore, it seems odd that it concerns her, but for me, it shouldn’t be a major issue and they don’t need to show excessive respect towards me.’
I completely understand that not everyone needs to appreciate my work, and that’s perfectly okay. In today’s world, actions often speak louder than words, and I believe we can all find common ground. To those ladies who think I could have managed this situation better offline, I get it, but please remember, if you’re planning on criticizing me in the same manner, perhaps it would be best for us to address these matters privately.
This reality TV personality gained popularity when she, along with her friends on MomTok, appeared in the Hulu series titled “The Secret Lives of Mormon Women” recently.
The program features the previously mentioned actors along with Jen Affleck, Whitney Leavitt, and Layla Taylor.
Last month, it was revealed that the hit series was renewed for a second season.
