Molly Smith surprised her four friends by asking them to be her bridesmaids with luxurious gift boxes on Wednesday.
The reality TV star is getting married to her fiancé, Tom Clare, this summer. They first met two years ago while filming Love Island All Stars.
Molly’s busy with wedding planning and has already spent a lot of money – hundreds of pounds, in fact – on gifts for her four bridesmaids. These included luxury items like Charlotte Tilbury makeup, Dior gift bags, and jewelry from Abbot Lyon.
Molly was incredibly generous, even gifting her bridesmaid a Dior handbag. She presented the gifts, along with others, during a small, private dinner party.
The celebrity was filmed filling boxes with beauty products, including £79 Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream, a £35 hydrating mist, a £31 blush wand, a £26 fragrance mist by Ouai, and £19 reusable eye patches from Jeumont.
Molly’s gift box also contained a custom white toiletry bag, a claw clip, satin scrunchies, and pearl hair clips.
Around the table, Molly arranged gifts for her bridesmaids: Dior bags, Abbot Lyon jewelry boxes, and small, personalized travel jewelry cases with each bridesmaid’s name on them. She also included water bottles and a custom-made newspaper.
To surprise her friends, the influencer decorated a restaurant with blue and white flowers and created a sign that read, ‘I can’t say ‘yes’ to the dress without you!’
The girls enjoyed glasses of red wine and a luxury meal before opening their gifts.
Molly penned: ‘A special night for the girls in my life. My bridesmaids’.
This follows Molly’s sharing that her father was deeply moved to tears when her fiancé, Tom, asked for her hand in marriage.
Tom proposed to his partner in Dubai last September, two years after they first met on the show All Stars.
Tom and Molly have shared the sweet story of how Tom quietly asked Molly’s father for permission to marry her, during a family barbeque they hosted at their house.
Tom explained on their new podcast, NearlyWeds—which they took over from Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo—that he asked his future father-in-law for his blessing at a family barbecue.
Both our families were present, but knowing we were leaving soon, I realized it was the perfect opportunity to speak with your dad.
I asked John if he could come check something out in the garage, and he immediately agreed because he’s always happy to help.
So I brought him aside and told him, “John, Mo and I are planning a trip.” I explained that I wanted to propose to her, but I wanted to ask for his blessing first.
He started to cry, and then he gave me a big hug, which I really appreciated.
Molly added: ‘It’s quite reassuring isn’t it’.
Molly and Tom recently shared with the Daily Mail that they’re still deciding between France and Spain for their wedding location. They haven’t had a chance to see the venues they’re considering, and the bride hasn’t even started shopping for a dress yet.
Molly knows planning her wedding in such a short time is stressful, and she’s starting to feel panicked as the big day approaches.
She explained to the Daily Mail that the wedding countdown on her phone is causing her a lot of stress. She’s been having small panic attacks each morning as the date gets closer.
The couple shared in a recent interview that they’ve chosen between two wedding venues, but are finding it hard to decide.
Molly said they’ve chosen between two locations and are now just finalizing the decision.
It’s important to experience things firsthand to really understand them. While photos are helpful, you can’t truly get a sense of a place or people until you’re actually there and get a feel for the atmosphere.
Many couples spend a year or two planning their wedding, but we’ll always have these memories. It’s definitely possible to make it happen quickly, you don’t need to wait, and that’s what we decided to do – we just really wanted to get married.
Tom mentioned they’re planning a wedding overseas, but haven’t decided on a location yet. They need to decide soon, and are currently choosing between Spain and France.
We’re trying to plan something that works for everyone in the family, somewhere affordable and special. It’s important that the location is easy for everyone to get to without causing extra stress. It’s a bit challenging fitting everything in at the moment.
Molly and Tom, who believe they fell in love immediately when they met in South Africa two years ago, are working together to plan their wedding.
As a lifestyle expert, I can tell you that for so many brides, finding the dress is a huge moment – honestly, one of the most fun parts of wedding planning! It’s that feeling of finally saying ‘yes’ to the gown of your dreams that really makes it all feel real.
Molly hasn’t scheduled any wedding dress appointments yet, and she’s worried she won’t be able to find the perfect dress.
I’ve been saving pictures from Instagram for inspiration, and I’m planning to book things soon. It’s tricky though, because we haven’t decided on a location yet, so I don’t have a clear idea of what I want the overall feel to be.
I’m really not excited about this, and honestly, I’m pretty anxious. It’s something different, and I’m worried I won’t find what I’m looking for.
Tom and Molly were crowned champions of Love Island’s All Stars in 2024, and they’ve remained together – a rare success story for the show’s spin-off series.
Molly unexpectedly entered the show, much to the surprise of her former boyfriend, Callum, whom she originally met while filming the winter season in 2020.
Many viewers were hoping Molly and Callum would get back together after three years apart, but Molly chose to continue a new romance with Tom.
Callum and Eve broke up shortly after their reality show ended, with reports claiming Callum had been unfaithful. He denied these claims, stating they had already split up before any alleged affair.
After her win on All Stars, Molly has partnered with several major brands for profitable deals. These include clothing company boohoo, fitness supplement brand Alani Nu, jewelry company Abbott Lyon, and makeup leaders L’Oréal Paris and Maybelline.
Last year, Molly told the Daily Mail that things with her partner were going really well. She admitted she’s usually hesitant to talk about positive things for fear of ruining them, but she currently has no complaints about their relationship.
We’re already spending so much time together, it feels like we’re practically living together—moving in together just feels like the natural next step.
