Molly Smith reveals her dad was left in tears when fiancé Tom Clare asked for permission to marry her as the couple pose for a stunning new photo shoot

Molly Smith shared that her father was deeply moved and cried when her fiancé, Tom Clare, asked for her hand in marriage.

After winning Love Island: All Stars two years ago, the couple is busy planning their wedding for the summer of 2026. Tom proposed in Dubai last September.

Tom and Molly recently shared how he quietly asked Molly’s father for permission to marry her, during a family barbecue at their house.

Tom shared on their new podcast, NearlyWeds, that he asked his future father-in-law for his blessing at a family barbecue. He was asking for his future partner’s hand in marriage at the time.

Both our families were present, but knowing we were leaving soon, I realized it was the perfect moment to speak with your father.

I asked John if he could take a quick look at something in the garage, and he immediately agreed because he’s always happy to help.

So, I brought him aside and told him that Mo and I were planning a trip. I explained that I wanted to propose to her, but I wanted to ask for his blessing first.

He started to cry, and then gave me a big hug, which I really appreciated.

Molly added: ‘It’s quite reassuring isn’t it’.

The couple looked radiant in new photos, with Molly wearing a chic white minidress that featured a fitted waist and gold buttons.

Molly and Tom beamed at each other as Molly tossed the bouquet. Tom looked sharp in a black suit.

The couple looked fantastic, both wearing denim outfits. The influencer showed off her fit stomach in a cropped top, while the footballer wore a white T-shirt and jeans.

Molly showed off her toned stomach in a black sports bra and short leggings, posing for a picture by herself.

Molly and Tom recently shared with Daily Mail that they’re still deciding between France and Spain for their wedding location. They haven’t visited potential venues yet, and the bride hasn’t even started shopping for a dress.

Molly understands the stress of planning a major life event on a tight deadline, and she’s starting to feel overwhelmed as the wedding day approaches.

She explained to the Daily Mail that the wedding countdown on her phone is causing her a lot of stress. She’s been experiencing small panic attacks each morning as the date gets closer.

The couple shared in a recent interview that they’ve picked two potential wedding venues, but are finding it hard to decide between them.

Molly said they’ve almost decided on a venue – they’re down to two choices and just need to make a final decision.

It’s important to experience things firsthand and get a sense of the atmosphere. While photos are helpful, you really need to be there in person to truly understand what it’s like.

Many couples spend a year or two planning their weddings, but we’ll always have these memories. It’s possible to make it happen quickly, you don’t have to put it off, and that’s what we decided to do – we simply wanted to get married.

Tom said they’re planning a wedding overseas, but haven’t decided on a location yet. They need to decide soon, and are choosing between Spain and France.

We’re trying to plan something that works for the whole family – somewhere everyone we want to include can easily get to, and that’s affordable. It needs to be a really good experience, and I want to make sure travel isn’t stressful for anyone. It’s just a lot to coordinate right now.

Molly and Tom, who believe they fell in love instantly when they first met in South Africa two years ago, are planning their wedding together as a partnership.

Oh my gosh, for so many brides – and honestly, me too! – finding the dress is seriously the best part of wedding planning! It’s like, all the stress melts away when you finally say ‘yes’ to that perfect gown. It’s a huge moment, I swear!

Molly hasn’t scheduled any wedding dress appointments yet, and she’s worried she won’t be able to find the perfect dress.

I’ve been saving pictures from Instagram for inspiration, and I’m planning to start booking things. It’s tricky though, because we haven’t decided on a location yet, so I don’t have a clear idea of how I want everything to look and feel.

I’m really not excited about this, and honestly, I’m pretty anxious. It’s something new, and I’m worried I won’t find what I’m looking for.

Tom and Molly were the winners of Love Island’s All Stars season in 2024, and they’ve remained together – a rare success story from the show’s spin-off series.

Molly unexpectedly entered the show, much to the surprise of her former boyfriend, Callum, whom she first met while filming the winter season in 2020.

Fans were hoping Molly and Callum would get back together after three years apart, but Molly chose to continue a new relationship with Tom.

Callum and Eve broke up just weeks after the show ended, with reports claiming Callum had been unfaithful. However, Callum maintained that he hadn’t cheated, stating he and Eve were already separated when the alleged affair happened.

After her win on All Stars, Molly has partnered with several major brands for profitable deals. These include boohoo (a clothing retailer), Alani Nu (a US fitness supplement company), Abbott Lyon (a jewelry brand), and makeup leaders L’Oréal Paris and Maybelline.

Last year, Molly told the Daily Mail that things with her partner were going really well. She admitted she was hesitant to talk about it too much, not wanting to risk ruining things, but she couldn’t find any faults in their relationship at the moment.

We’re already spending almost all our time together, so moving in together feels like the natural next step – it’s just making things official.
