Molly-Mae Hague breaks her silence on Behind It All docu-series backlash after being slammed for ‘diva meltdown’ and ‘bratty behaviour’

Molly-Mae Hague has finally spoken about her Amazon Prime show, ‘Behind It All,’ after receiving criticism following the release of its second season.

Viewers criticized the 26-year-old Love Island contestant for acting like a ‘diva’ and being spoiled, especially after seeing how luxurious her life is on the show, which turned some fans away.

Molly recently posted a new video on YouTube explaining the criticism she’s received and announcing that she had to remove her TikTok account because of negative comments.

I’ve been following this influencer for a while now, and she recently shared that she noticed a lot of chatter online about the documentary. It really bothered her, so she decided to just delete her TikTok account. It was a pretty big move, but she felt it was the right thing to do based on the reaction she was seeing.

Molly said deleting the app was “one of the best decisions I ever made.” Even though she’s not easily bothered, she feels the app is incredibly toxic.

The woman shared that her makeup artist was browsing social media and quickly showed her three things she’d rather not have seen.

I realized it wasn’t a priority to relaunch the app quickly.

I’ve been getting wonderful messages from people who are really enjoying it, and I wanted to share that it means a lot to me.

That’s really all I hoped to achieve with this film – simply create something people could watch and enjoy.

‘And I think I’ve definitely definitely learned a lot,’ she said.

Molly shared that she was very worried about the release of her documentary series, admitting it’s impossible to please everyone.

She mentioned that even before the film premiered, there was a moment in her video blog where she was extremely anxious.

‘I literally said like ‘that’s going to cause this’ and ‘this is going to cause that’.

I’ve been in this role for a long time, and we used to have a reliable process that prevented issues like the one we’re seeing with this document.

‘And with this drop of the doc like we literally did the complete opposite of what we normally do.

‘Like we spoke about things we don’t speak about.

We deliberately held back a lot of content, things I wouldn’t normally reveal. After releasing even a small amount, there was overwhelming demand for more.

Molly explained that it’s about finding the right amount – not too little, but also not excessive.

Someone mentioned falling asleep during an episode because it was dull, but surprisingly, they also thought the episodes felt too short.

The influencer explained that she simply can’t please everyone, no matter how hard she attempts to do so.

Last month, before walking in the L’Oreal show in Paris, Molly became very upset and threatened to cancel her runway debut, breaking down in tears. It was described as a ‘diva meltdown’.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I was totally heartbroken watching her reaction! The brand sent her this dress for the show, and it was just…awful. She was clearly devastated – I mean, her face just fell! It was so painful to watch, honestly. I felt so bad for her, she deserved so much better!

In the third episode, Molly initially complained about her champagne-colored satin dress, calling it baggy and saying the color made her look pale, even though she ultimately wore it. The dress had shoulder pads and a high slit.

Okay, so things got really intense backstage at the show. Honestly, I saw the Love Island star having a moment – she said she was really taking control and setting boundaries, which is great, but then she started to feel overwhelmed and had a panic attack. She actually refused to walk the runway in the dress alongside Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevingne, and it was a really difficult situation for everyone involved. It just goes to show, even when you try to project confidence, things don’t always go as planned, and it’s important to prioritize your mental health.

Honestly, the drama! My sister Zoe was trying to smooth things over, but Molly-Mae was not happy. She was really upset about a dress and kept saying it wasn’t something you just ‘make do’ with – she even pointed out how she was showing off her leg and wanted to look her best! It’s all about feeling confident, and she definitely wasn’t feeling it in that moment.

Throughout my career, I’ve always been fully covered, but at the moment I needed to look and feel my best, I realized I had nothing appropriate to wear except an outfit that showed my leg. It was a really unexpected situation!

‘The colour is completely washing me out. I think I’m about to have a panic attack.

It’s much too loose and doesn’t flatter my figure at all. I need to feel confident when I’m performing in front of a large audience.

I refuse to face Kendal, Cara, and Eva [Longoria] unless I’m feeling good about myself. It’s impossible to act confident when I’m actually feeling insecure.

As Molly-Mae’s team urgently contacted L’Oreal requesting changes to her outfit, the brand insisted they had no alternatives available, and time was quickly running out before she needed to be at the show.

Even though there was a lot of attention surrounding it, she ultimately wore the dress on the runway at Paris Fashion Week. This happened a year after she initially declined, feeling unsure of herself.

Last month, Molly-Mae Hague – who became a L’Oreal ambassador in a deal worth a reported seven figures – walked the runway at Paris City Hall alongside several famous models. The show, titled ‘Liberty. Equality. Sisterhood. Because You’re Worth It,’ was a star-studded event.

I honestly can’t believe the hate Molly’s getting! She just said her summer was a little quiet, a little boring, and people are sending her death threats?! It’s over some silly comments, and it’s absolutely insane! I’m so worried about her, it’s just awful that anyone would react like that to something so trivial. It’s just…stupid, honestly. She deserves better than this horrible backlash.

In the latest episode, the influencer discussed the negative reaction she received online after making a comment she now admits was foolish.

Oh my gosh, I completely lost it when I saw her latest YouTube video. She was saying she hadn’t done anything fun all summer! It just broke my heart, honestly. Like, how could anyone let that happen to her? I immediately started brainstorming a million things we could do together to fix it. It was just… devastating to see her so down.

I’ve been following her travels, and it’s been amazing to see all the fun she’s been having! Earlier this year, she was jet-setting everywhere – from hitting the slopes in St. Moritz to exploring cities like Budapest, Paris, and Dubai. She even took a lovely family vacation to Turkey and Centre Parcs with Tommy Fury and their adorable little girl, Bambi, who’s just two years old. It was quite a year for them!

Molly-Mae’s recent statements sparked criticism from her YouTube followers, many of whom felt she seemed disconnected from reality, insensitive, and constantly negative.

She addressed the criticism she received about her show, explaining she was upset with herself after reading the comments. She admitted she understood why people were bothered by her statement about wanting the summer to end without having enjoyed it.

‘The days where the nation has turned against you, they’re not the best days.

It’s clear I’ve been enjoying myself – I think it’s because I love my job. I’ve had a wonderful summer and overall, I’m very happy with my life.

I regret what I said – it wasn’t helpful and was frustrating. Despite everything, I feel very fortunate. I’m aware I’m not perfect and I’m always working on becoming a better person.

‘I think we are at a stage now where one wrong comment, it could all be … [gone].

Right now, TikTok is full of content about Molly Mae and the issues she’s facing. I’m honestly surprised I can watch all of that without it bothering me.

I can’t force myself to feel something I don’t, and I’m committed to being honest and open about the realities of being a mother.
