Sean Durkin’s biographical sports drama, titled “The Iron Claw,” which revolves around the Von Erich wrestling family, will be available for streaming on Netflix starting August 9th.
The movie, praised by Cinemasters as a “Modern masterpiece“, features an impressive ensemble including Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson, Stanley Simons, along with Maura Tierney, Holt McCallany, Lily James and Michael J. Harney.
As I delve into the gripping tale of the Von Erichs, a legendary wrestling family who soared to global fame in the ’80s, The Iron Claw takes me on an exhilarating journey through their dazzling victories and heart-wrenching trials.
The drama titled “The Iron Claw” has garnered praise from critics, boasting an impressive rating of 89% on Rotten Tomatoes. In a review by “The New Yorker”, it was described as both exuberant and mournful. The performances are filled with high spirits, but the price paid for these achievements is inextricably linked to the sadness that they convey.
According to the New Statesman, Efron delivers a standout performance that deserves more recognition, a role that could solidify his stardom. Similarly, the Associated Press praises Efron’s performance, stating that with his well-toned body and ’70s hairstyle, he delivers some of the most heartfelt work in his career to date.

Meanwhile, Empire Magazine raved: “A heavyweight collective has just entered the ring.”
To Digital Spy, I shared my thoughts on the overwhelming emotional impact of our movie. “I believe there’s something for everyone in it. Whether it stirs a deep emotion or simply adds to your experience, I’m glad if it resonated with you in some way through the film.

Recently, I discovered an intriguing trend – following a movie, people are recording their reactions, often displaying strong emotions, or I’ve seen some genuine moments captured outside theaters where groups of friends are hugging each other.
“Those are really powerful, that says everything.”
The Iron Claw will land on Netflix on 9 August.
The latest print edition from Digital Spy, titled “Oasis – Live in ’25”, is available! You can purchase it at your local newsstands or online for only £8.99.
