Modern Horror Icon Kyle Gallner Teams With Weapons Producer For New Monster Movie

Kyle Gallner is heading back to horror films, and this time he’s also taking on a role behind the scenes.

Deadline reports that Bill Skarsgård has a new project: a monster horror film called Man Vs. He’s not only acting in the movie, but he also wrote the script, marking his debut as a screenwriter.

Justin Martinez, the director behind V/H/S/Beyond, will direct a new monster thriller from Gallner. Ben Ross and Josh Goldbloom are executive producers, along with Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of Radio Silence. Roy Lee, known for Weapons, and Steven Schneider, from Insidious, are producing the survival thriller.

The movie Man Vs. tells the story of a gold miner (Gallner) who is left for dead in the harsh Rocky Mountains during winter. He’s injured and must fight to survive not only the brutal weather and wild animals, but also a terrifying, ancient threat he never saw coming.

Martinez praised Gallner’s work on the project, saying, “Man Vs has all the elements of a great survival movie, but it’s even better. Kyle has created a truly impressive creature feature, and I’m thrilled to be able to share it with everyone.”

As a critic, I’m always on the lookout for genuinely fresh and exciting genre films, and I recently heard from Shane Kelly at Mister Smith Entertainment about a project called ‘Man Vs.’ He described it as exactly what they’re looking for – a wildly original vision. Kelly seems particularly confident with Justin directing and a team of producers known for innovative horror, predicting it’ll be a real theatrical experience you won’t want to miss. Sounds like a promising ride!

The 39-year-old actor is well-known for his work in horror films. He’s starred in the popular movies Smile and Smile 2, both of which were successful for Paramount Pictures. He also played Vince Schneider in the 2022 film Scream and appeared in the 2010 remake of Nightmare on Elm Street.

The actor, known from Smallville, first appeared in horror films in 2009 with roles in The Haunting in Connecticut and Jennifer’s Body. Currently, there’s no confirmed release date for Man Vs.
