The cast of “Modern Family” continue to be instantly recognizable figures and prominent stars within Hollywood’s entertainment scene. Over the course of their 11-season tenure, they significantly transformed contemporary television on network channels, eventually securing a place amongst the greatest sitcoms of all time. Following their series finale, several members have ventured into new projects; notably, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, who portrayed Lily Tucker-Pritchett, has recently embarked upon a full transition into music and adopted the stage name Frances Anderson to reflect this change in her career path.
Anderson has chosen to adopt a new stage name, which is part of her legal name and holds sentimental and logical significance. In an interview with E! News, she explained that she wants to separate her Lily persona from her upcoming EP titled “Drowned” (now available), as the young artist turns 18 years old.
Frances is an integral part of my legal name; it’s my middle name, named after my mom’s childhood friend. For several reasons, I decided to use this name instead of Aubrey Anderson-Emmons: one, it’s shorter, given my long, hyphenated last name. Two, I wanted to show a different aspect of myself. Lastly, I aimed to establish a unique space dedicated solely to music. I can hardly wait for everyone to listen to the songs on the EP and I am deeply grateful.
It’s astonishing that the actress who played Lily on screen is no longer just a child (having recently attended her high school prom), and has also left acting behind, at least temporarily. As a fan, I can’t wait to listen to her new EP and cheer her on as she explores new creative avenues. It seems that this change of direction could be a wise choice for young, versatile stars who are interested in expanding their horizons into various industries.
Just like Stranger Things actor Joe Keery, who has found great success under his stage name, Djo, I hope that the actress follows a similar path.
Additionally, she shared insights about her latest professional journey, expressing great enthusiasm in this area. Following the conclusion of “Modern Family” in 2020 (which can be streamed with a Hulu or Peacock subscription), Anderson found herself back to a regular childhood lifestyle at age 12. She resumed her education, singing, and together with her mother, they launched and manage a FoodMania Review on YouTube. Over the past few years, she has honed her skills in writing and playing music, which have been instrumental in fueling her ambitions, as she stated.
During the pandemic, I picked up playing the guitar as a new skill. My knack for writing blossomed during my high school music class, although I had always been a vocalist prior to that. A long-standing dream of mine is to perform on Broadway, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that one day it might come true.
Frances Anderson’s comeback and change of direction appear to be ideal moves as she re-emerges into the public spotlight. Over a period of five years, a resolute and grown-up teenager can make significant progress, it appears! I’m eager to see how she will perform in her chosen profession following her discussions about her reservations regarding child acting for young children. I believe she would excel in a Broadway role if she decides to take on more projects.
Here’s wishing that the actress-turned-singer, known as Frances Anderson, will reach some impressive heights in her music career, distinguishing herself from her fame as Aubrey Anderson-Emmons. However, it’s been noticeable that television guides since 2020 have lacked the charm of Lily and her family.
