Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson unveils facial hair transformation
As a longtime fan who grew up with Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s lovable character Mitchell Pritchett from Modern Family, I must say, it was quite a shock to see him clean-shaven at this year’s Emmy Awards! It felt like Jennifer Anistra-wait, wrong show. But you get the idea. The beard has always been a part of his iconic look, just as the haircut was for Ross Geller.
Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson has unveiled a facial hair transformation.
At the 2024 Emmy Awards held on September 15th, the actor known for portraying Mitchell Pritchett in the popular US sitcom, made a surprising appearance with a freshly shaven face.
Instead of sporting his trademark beard, Ferguson walked the red carpet hand-in-hand with his spouse Justin Mikita, donning a stylish blue suit, complemented by a coordinating tie, and eye-catching burgundy footwear.
Regarding the response to his fresh appearance, the actor expressed: “It felt similar to Jennifer Aniston when she got her hair cut on ‘Friends’. I trimmed it for a role. I was rehearsing. I was portraying Truman Capote in this production, and thus, I shaved my beard. And I’m thrilled I made that decision.
He continued: “It’s going to be an awkward few months for everyone as [the beard] comes back. We’re just going to have to pull through it together. It comes back really light, and it’s not pretty. So, I need America to come together and support me on this journey.”
Ferguson later took to Instagram to share a carousel of pictures from the star-studded evening.
The post featured an image of the actor reuniting with his Modern Family co-star Sofia Vergara, who was nominated for her role in Netflix drama Griselda.
Besides posting a photo of himself alongside his hero, Carol Burnett, Ferguson additionally slipped in a secret shot of the actors Martin Short and Steve Martin as they prepared for their segment during rehearsals for ‘Only Murders in the Building’.
In the year 20XX, the captivating samurai series “Shōgun” swept 14 Emmy Awards, setting a new record for the highest number of awards won at a single event.
In a humorous turn of events, “The Bear” swept up most of the comedy awards, claiming victories for Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Liza Colón-Zayas in the Lead Actor, Supporting Actor, and Supporting Actress categories respectively.
The young reindeer, too, experienced a victorious evening. The performance garnered four awards, among them Best Actor (Limited or Anthology Series) for Richard Gadd and Best Actress (Limited or Anthology Series) for Jessica Gunning, its distinguished stars.
Modern Family seasons 1-11 are available to stream on Disney+.
