MOBOs 2025 Drama Unfolds

As I graced the red carpet of the 2025 MOBO Awards held at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena, I decided to embrace my personal style by going braless, opting for a daring ensemble that turned heads.

27-year-old Love Island celebrity, who graced our screens during the 2023 season, heated things up with a strikingly bold appearance at the glamorous music awards, causing temperatures to rise.

As she made her grand entrance on the red carpet, Whitney exuded an alluring charm by posing seductively, then proceeded to enter the event.

Whitney went completely braless and wore high-waisted opaque tights under a glamorous mustard coat.

The beauty teamed her look with a jaw-dropping makeup look and chic hairdo.

This year, it was Bashy, Ayra Starr, Darkoo, and Odeal who shone brightest, taking home a total of two awards apiece. Moreover, Central Cee tied for the most accolades in MOBO Awards history as a rapper.

For the third time straight, he clinched the Best Male Act award, which now brings his accolade count up to seven – equal to Stormzy’s tally.

Instead, Oakley Caesar-Su, the artist, was unable to attend the glamorous event where he received his award.

Or, At the grand ceremony, it was Oakley Caesar-Su who was missing as they accepted their award.

Both sentences convey the same information in a slightly different way, making them more readable and natural.

Despite facing tough opponents like Kendrick Lamar and Beyoncé, who have been dominant at this year’s Grammys, Ayra managed to secure the title of Best International Act.

The Nigerian musician and songwriter was not only victorious in the Best African Music Act category but also made history as the first female winner of this award in the past 16 years.

Instead of Darkoo, another talented Nigerian artist named Darkoo was awarded as the Best Female Act, surpassing artists such as RAYE, Jorja Smith, Little Simz, Cleo Sol, and Nia Archives.

The artist, who is both a rapper and a singer, was honored with the prestigious Song of the Year accolade for her popular collaboration with Dess Dior titled “Favorite Girl.

German-born artist Odeal was awarded with Best Newcomer as well as scoring Best R&B or Soul Act.

After a fifteen-year hiatus, Bashy’s debut album, “Being Poor Is Expensive,” was a massive success, earning him the coveted title of “Album of the Year.

While the actor and rapper, 40, also landed the win in the Best Hip-Hop Act category as well.

The Video of the Year category was won by Mnelia for My Man, which was directed by Femi Bello.

Jacob Anderson emerged victorious in the category of Best Performance on Television or Film, receiving the accolade for his exceptional portrayal of Louis in Interview With The Vampire.

As a lifestyle expert, I must express my admiration for the exceptional performances that outshone the competition in various recent productions. Notably, among these impressive portrayals, I was particularly captivated by an actor and musician who stole the spotlight in the Bob Marley biopic, “Bob Marley: One Love.” Their riveting interpretation of the iconic figure surpassed even the talented Kingsley Ben-Adir’s portrayal as Bob Marley.

Other remarkable performances included those by Ghetts and Josh Tedeku in Supacell, Jasmine Jobson in Top Boy, and EastEnders’ own Diane Parish and Angela Wynter. Each of these actors delivered a performance that left a lasting impact on me and the viewing audience.

I’m thrilled to share that the title of Best Grime Act has been awarded to Scorcher, while Pozer took home the prize for Best Drill Act. The honor of Best Electronic Dance Music Act was bestowed upon TSHA and Ezra Collective, shining brightly in the Best Jazz Act category.

In the awards ceremony, Annatoria received the title for Best Gospel Act, while Shenseea claimed the award for Best Caribbean Music Act. The honor of Best Alternative Act went to ALT BLK ERA.

The Top Producer made an appearance on the 90s Baby Show, a popular comedy podcast, and was honored with the accolade for Outstanding Media Personality.

In addition, the evening event featured two unique awards, including the Paving The Way Award, which was bestowed upon Olympic gold medalist Dame Denise Lewis for her remarkable contributions.

The prize is given to honor individuals who have laid a path for upcoming generations in sports, arts, and culture.

Before the event, the MOBOs commended the athlete, expressing: “Denise has not only made history in athletics but also shattered boundaries in broadcasting. Her skill, persistence, and elegance have laid a path for future generations.

In a tribute to British sports, a remarkable figure and a continual motivator who raises the bar, both within and beyond the athletic field – Denise Lewis. Truly powerful, she is a living testament to greatness. Salute to you, Denise Lewis!

As Vybz Kartel, the renowned Jamaican dancehall deejay, received the MOBO Impact Award during his remarkable comeback to the UK, this accolade is typically bestowed upon artists who have significantly influenced their musical genre.

Previously incarcerated for thirteen years on murder charges, last year he was freed from prison, as the UK Privy Council overturned his conviction based on evidence of jury bribery during his trial.

During the MOBO Awards, its founder Kanya King delivered a heartfelt speech following her announcement about her terminal cancer condition.

In September, a 56-year-old businesswoman received devastating news: she was diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer that had metastasized to her liver and lymph nodes, leaving her only about half a year to live.

The unfortunate news for the 56-year-old entrepreneur in September was that her stage 4 bowel cancer had spread to both her liver and lymph nodes, giving her roughly six months left to live.

With a radiant smile, she stepped onto the stage, greeted by a thunderous applause. She proceeded to give a talk about the MOBO Awards and emphasized the significance of wellness.

Kanya expressed that her journey isn’t concluded; instead, it has transitioned into a fresh chapter for her expression, influence, and advocacy, which remains as crucial as music – pertaining to the wellbeing of individuals.

Allow me to speak candidly: Had I not heeded the warning signs and symptoms, I would not be here today. In sharing my experiences on my cancer journey, I aim to enlighten others.

She burst into tears when, unexpectedly on stage, she received another Paving The Way Award, which recognized her efforts.

During the night’s events, triple winners Odeal, Darkoo, and Bashy graced the stage for their performance. Additionally, the ceremony featured music acts such as rock duo Nova Twins and the British hip-hop pair Krept and Konan.

Once more, the awards ceremony was conducted by Love Island celebrity Indiyah Polack, who also hosted it last year. This time, however, she was accompanied by comedian Eddie Kadi.

Before the upcoming awards ceremony, she expressed her enthusiasm by saying she was “thrilled to return” and further stated that they would present an unprecedented spectacle in Newcastle, one that honors and showcases the depth of Black music and culture.
