Mobile Legends MPL SG Season 8: Teams, Format, Prize Pool, and more

As an ardent follower of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and a die-hard fan of the Singaporean esports scene, I am absolutely thrilled about the commencement of MPL SG Season 8! With my fingers hovering over the keyboard and eyes glued to the screen during every match, I’ve witnessed the growth and evolution of these teams, and it’s always a treat to see them battle it out for supremacy.

In the upcoming season, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Singapore (MPL SG) will kick off its Season 8. With the commencement of the second split of 2024 esports professional leagues, the excitement in Singapore is palpable as they join the race.

With a grand prize pool of approximately $74,000, eight teams are set to compete for the trophy in this tournament, which is organized by MOONTON Games and Zenway Productions. The live event will take place in Singapore.

MPL SG Season 8: Schedule and Format

In the upcoming event, there are going to be two phases: The Regular Season commences on September 7th, 2024, and ends on the same month’s 28th. Each match follows a single round-robin schedule initially, then transitions to BO3 (Best of Three) format. A team secures 3 points if they win 2 games without a loss, while earning 2 points for a 2-1 victory. If a team loses 2-0, they still get 1 point. The six highest-ranked teams from this phase will progress to the Playoffs.

In October 11th to 13th, 2024, the playoffs will occur. The top four teams will compete in the Upper Bracket while the bottom two will battle it out in the Lower Bracket. A double-elimination system will be employed initially, followed by a best-of-seven (BO7) format for the Grand Final. The lower brackets’ Semifinal and Final will utilize a best-of-five (BO5), while all other matches will adopt a best-of-three (BO3) format.

The remaining six teams are returning champions from MPL SG Season 7, and their presence adds an extra layer of anticipation to the tournament. I can’t wait to see who will emerge victorious in this event, as it’s always thrilling to witness the clash between newcomers and seasoned veterans.
