Mobile Legends MDL Philippines Season 5: Teams, Fformat, Prize Pool, and More

In the year 2025, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is moving forward on its esports journey, guided by an esports strategy. As a part of this plan, the Mobile Legends MDL Philippines Season 5 is approaching swiftly, with 16 teams from within the nation participating. With the event set to commence shortly, fans can look forward to thrilling Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) matches between these teams. The competitive battles will be managed by MOONTON Games, and the tournament will conclude in May 2025.

Mobile Legends MDL Philippines Season 5: Schedule and Format

As a passionate fan, I’d put it this way: The grand event is divided into two phases – the Regular Season and the Playoffs. Interestingly, the Regular Season itself has three distinct segments. Before we dive into the main spectacle that starts with the Regular Season, there was an open qualifier and finals to establish the non-partner teams.

The event begins in March 2025, commencing with the Group Stage where participating teams are organized into 4 groups of 4 squads. Each group consists of both partnered and non-partnered teams. All matches will be Best-of-Two (BO2) and follow a single round-robin tournament format.

For the following two stages, every team will join in. However, during the Play-in round 2, the matches will follow a Best of 3 (BO3) format. The teams will face off in a single-elimination tournament, with the top four progressing to the Playoffs. In the Playoffs, which is the final stage, also known as the playoffs, the competition will be held using Best of 7 (BO7) matches. Once the champion is crowned in May, the entire event will come to a close.

Participating Teams

In this competition, there will be a total of 16 teams vying for the championship title. Eight of these teams are associated with MPL, whereas the remaining eight have qualified through open competitions. Here’s a rundown of the participants for the forthcoming event:

Prize Pool

The winning teams stand to gain a collective sum of twenty thousand dollars as the reward pot. Once the tournament concludes, each participant will be given an equitable portion of the prize funds according to their final standing. Below is a detailed distribution of the earnings:

The total reward for the victorious teams amounts to $20,000. Upon conclusion of the event, each competitor will receive a proportionate share of the prize money based on their placement. Here’s a comprehensive outline of the payout structure:

Team RankingPrize Pool
The Champion$6,000
Runner-up$3,000
3rd-4th$2,000
5th-8th$1,500

Despite being a lower-profile competition in the Philippines, this event boasts individual accolades for both teams and players. The standout team will receive the All-Star Team award, which comes with a prize of $100. Additionally, multiple players will be honored with various other awards. Titles such as Rookie of the Season, Most Improved Player, Regular Season MVP, and Finals MVP will be bestowed upon deserving players. Every award recipient will walk away with a prize of $100.
