Mobile Legends: Bang Bang to introduce Match Rewind feature

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang to introduce Match Rewind feature

Story Highlights

  • MLBB has confirmed to GamingonPhone that the Match Rewind feature is currently in development and will be arriving soon.
  • They have also implemented strict measures to ensure that this issue does not reoccur during the ongoing M6 Championship.
  • However, the MLBB community is dissatisfied with the situation and how MLBB is handling it.

As a seasoned gamer with years of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang under my belt, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions over the recent M6 World Championship incident involving the technical issue that occurred during Match 12 between DFYG and ULF. The frustration is palpable within the MLBB community, myself included.

In a future update for the game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, developed by MOONTON Games, players can look forward to the implementation of the Match Rewind feature. This decision comes after an incident during an M6 match where this function might have rectified a problematic situation.

MLBB is working on the Match Rewind feature for future tournaments

As a gamer, I’m right in the thick of things at the M6 World Championship! The Wild Card Stages are proving to be a hotbed of intense competition from up-and-coming teams. But, on November 23, during Match 12 of the Wild Card Stage between DFYG and ULF, a technical glitch reared its ugly head.

No rematch, RIP mlbb china. Can’t believe they killed their game before it’s even released

During game 3 of their competition, a player from DFYG experienced a technical hiccup which made him momentarily lose command over his character, leading to its demise. He reported this to the referee, and his device was eventually fixed, but unfortunately, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang couldn’t restart the game because the tournament system doesn’t possess a rewind function at present.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang to introduce Match Rewind feature

At GamingonPhone, we recently got a chance to chat with MOONTON Games about the prospect of adding a rewind feature for competitive games in upcoming tournaments. They assured us that this feature is under construction and will be rolled out soon. Additionally, they’ve already put stringent safeguards in place to prevent such an issue from happening again during the ongoing M6 Championship.

In a Facebook post, they shared information about the ongoing situation and mentioned that if they had a ‘match rewind’ feature, it could have addressed the problem since the incident didn’t qualify for a remake under the rules of the MLBB M6 World Championship 2024 Official Rulebook. Consequently, they were compelled to carry on with the match in accordance with the tournament guidelines.

In my opinion, it seems reasonable to grant an exception in this case, given that the mistake was made by management, not the players. After all, receiving pop-up notifications on a tournament device is something beyond their control. The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang community has expressed dissatisfaction with how this situation has been handled. Nevertheless, I’m glad to see that they are now implementing this feature, which was essential for official tournaments.
