Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Ranked Mode Guide: Divisions, Rewards and Tips

Story Highlights

  • Follow this guide to smoothly reach the highest rank tiers!
  • Have fun climbing the Ranked ladder!

I’m a huge fan of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang! It’s such a fast-paced MOBA where you battle it out in awesome 5v5 matches. But the Ranked Mode is where it really gets exciting – it’s where all the best players try to climb the ranks and prove they’re the best. If you want to succeed, you need to understand how the ranking system works, what rewards you can earn, and have a good strategy. This guide breaks down everything you need to know about Ranked Mode, from the different tiers to helpful tips and tricks!

Mobile Legends Ranked Mode Guide: Divisions

Okay, so if I want to jump into Ranked matches, I need to hit level 8 first. I also need to have unlocked at least six different heroes. Oh, and there’s a credit score thing – it needs to be above 90. Once I’ve got all that sorted, I can queue up solo, or team up with friends – we can go with a duo, a three-person squad, or a full five-person team. Plus, I can invite friends who are roughly the same skill level as me – basically, they can be one rank above or below mine.

RankDivisionsStars
WarriorIII to IStar x0 to Star x3
EliteIII to IStar x0 to Star x4
MasterIV to IStar x0 to Star x5
GrandmasterV to IStar x0 to Star x5
EpicV to IStar x0 to Star x5
LegendV to IStar x0 to Star x5
MythicStar x0 to Star x24
Mythical HonorStar x25 to Star x49
Mythical GloryStar x50 to Star x99
Mythical ImmortalStar x100 to Star x∞

Each rank is broken down into levels, indicated by Roman numerals. Progressing through these levels requires collecting stars. If you earn too many or lose all your stars, you’ll move to the next or previous level. Finishing all levels results in a rank increase, while failing all levels causes a rank decrease.

Draft Pick

When you reach Epic V rank or higher (which is Grandmaster V or higher on the advanced test server), you’ll be able to play matches in Draft Pick.

Unlike Blind Pick, Draft Pick shows both teams which heroes are being chosen and allows each team to ban three heroes, creating a more balanced match. Once a hero is picked or banned, neither team can use them for the rest of the game. For tips on winning through hero selection in Mobile Legends, check out our Mobile Legends draft guide.

Star-raising and Star Protection

You can earn or keep stars through features called star-raising and star protection. Star-raising lets you get a bonus star when you reach 100 points after winning a match. Star protection prevents you from losing stars by either reaching 100 protection points or using special star protection cards. If you lose a match, any star protection cards you have will activate before your accumulated star protection points are considered.

Okay, so when I hit Mythic rank, things change a bit with stars. I can’t get any bonus stars after winning a match anymore, which is kinda rough. But the good news is, I can still protect my stars from being taken! If I fill up my star protection bar to 100% or use a star protection card, I won’t lose any stars, even if I lose a match. It’s all about preventing losses at that point.

Mobile Legends Ranked Mode Guide: Tips to master

1. Master Key Heroes

Becoming really good at just a few heroes lets you understand exactly what they’re capable of – both their strengths and weaknesses. This deep knowledge helps you react better in different game situations and play more effectively overall. When you truly know a hero, you can outplay opponents and work better with your team. For more details on how to counter specific heroes in Mobile Legends, check out our Hero Counters guide.

2. Stay Updated with the Meta

Staying current with the ‘meta’ in gaming isn’t just about knowing which characters are strong right now. It’s about understanding what those characters are good at, how they work with teammates, and what items help them perform best. When you adapt to the meta, you’re prepared to effectively respond to anything your opponents do.

Understanding this gives you a competitive edge, helping you make effective decisions that can significantly improve your chances of success. If you’re looking for heroes that consistently perform well, regardless of changes in the game, check out our list of heroes that remain strong in any meta.

3. Communicate Effectively

In Mobile Legends, teamwork is key to success. Using the in-game chat isn’t just for casual conversation – it’s how you plan strategies, coordinate attacks, and work together to make big plays. Understanding your teammates, sharing strategies, and acting as a unified team are crucial. Whether you’re planning an ambush, capturing an objective, or making a comeback, strong teamwork and clear communication are what separate a good team from a winning one.

4. Map Awareness Matters

Paying attention to the mini-map is crucial, but it’s more than just spotting enemies. It’s about predicting what they’ll do next, figuring out your plan of attack, and making informed choices based on what you see. To really excel with any character, though, you need to know the map well.

Being able to anticipate what your opponents will do is key. This means planning ambushes, quickly capturing important points, and dodging surprise attacks. It’s more than just observing – it’s about using what you see to outsmart them and gain an edge that leads to victory.

5. Stay Flexible

In Mobile Legends, being able to adapt is incredibly important. It’s not about sticking to a single plan no matter what; it’s about being willing to change your approach when the situation demands it. This could mean adjusting how you play, switching up tactics with your team, or even changing your overall objectives. Knowing when to change your strategy and making those quick adjustments can really help you win the game.

Final Thoughts

Ranked Mode in Mobile Legends is more than just trying to get to the top rank. It’s about growing as a player, learning to work with your team, and developing smart strategies. Enjoy the challenge, focus on improving your skills, and have fun as you climb the ranks. Every game is an opportunity to get better, no matter if you’re striving for Mythic or Mythical Immortal.
