As a gamer with over two decades under my belt, I’ve seen the esports landscape evolve from a niche pastime to a global phenomenon. And let me tell you, the announcement by MOONTON Games for MLBB Esports in 2025 is nothing short of electrifying!

MOONTON’s hit mobile MOBA, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), unveiled its 2025 esports plan today at MSummit Kuala Lumpur. With the 2024 esports season nearing its end, the game has big aspirations for next year. The esports roadmap was released to align with the direction the game has been moving in over the years.

MLBB esports roadmap is packed with competitive events throughout 2025

Next year promises a busy calendar of esports competitions, with the highlight being the start of two major tournaments: The M Series Championship and MSC. Additionally, regional leagues and third-party events will persist, having successfully concluded in 2024.

The Major Sports Competition (MSC) 2025 is scheduled for the period spanning mid-July to early August. However, the pathway to these top-tier leagues, known as the MLBB Professional League (MPL), operates in a bi-annual esports format. The initial phase of the MPL starts from early March and continues until late June. Subsequently, the second segment will take place between August and November.

Third-party events endorsed directly by the title itself are scheduled. Among these events is the Snapdragon Pro Series, which is organized by both ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) and Qualcomm Technologies Inc. The Snapdragon Pro Series Mobile Challenge Finals will occur in February, followed by the Snapdragon Pro Series Mobile Masters in April, then the Snapdragon Pro Series New Season from August to November.

The M7 World Championship will kick off in January 2026

The first thing you’ll notice moving will be the change of M7 from December to January. As of now, the specific location hasn’t been disclosed; we’ll find out where it is on the 15th of December.

MOONTON has solidified a robust stance in broadening the esports landscape, ensuring fairness among teams. This is evident as the M6 tournament marks the first event to have four squads from various regions advance to the Semi-Finals. The year of esports in 2025 will culminate with the 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games 2025, which will be held in Thailand during December and will feature both male and female competitions.

MLBB esports is expanding to China, with the inaugural Chinese League in works

Officials from Moonton are buzzing with anticipation as they announce plans for expansion in the coming year. One of the world’s major gaming centers, China, is on their list to tap into.

Mike Chu, who holds the position of Head of Regional Esports & China at MOONTON Games, expressed: “The growth of MLBB on a global scale persisted in 2024 with the formation of the Chinese league. We eagerly anticipate observing one of the world’s gaming heavyweights display their prowess within the MLBB esports community.

In addition to building excitement, MOONTON also intends to establish an esports environment specifically for Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG) following its release next year. Initially focusing on Indonesia, there are plans to broaden this in Southeast Asian countries as well. The publisher has already initiated partnerships with various platforms to introduce the game to the competitive esports scene. Keeping you updated with the latest news from MLBB, we’ll be sharing insights into events happening throughout 2025.
