This month was filled with engaging announcements and significant updates that suggest an even more thrilling summer on the horizon.

Week 1: May 01 to May 07

Executive Summary

Week 1 of May 2025 in Mobile Gaming News saw the debut of FAU-G: Domination on Android at WAVES 2025, while Game of Thrones: Dragonfire commenced a soft launch. Kalpa: Mythic Hero Defense initiated its early access phase, and Caverna released its mobile and PC digital version.

In the meantime, it was announced that “Star Legends” featuring Dame Helen Mirren will be available for mobile devices this Spring. Pre-registration options have been made available for several games including “Civilization: Eras & Allies”, “Monster Train”, and “Tree of Savior: NEO”. Notably, the latter is also set to launch globally by the end of this month.

On the announcement stage, HoYoverse unveiled “Honkai: Nexus Anima”, a fresh addition to the Honkai series. Meanwhile, development has begun on the first mobile game based on “Made in Abyss”, while “Pixel Gun 2” is also being prepared as its sequel for early 2026.

Week 2: May 08 to May 14

Executive Summary

The second week of May 2025 maintained the pace with numerous launches and thrilling new disclosures. Witchy Workshop, Chronomon, Unmatched EGO, Kumome, and Slaps and Beans 2 have been introduced on mobile devices, while Morikomori Life was debuted in Japan as well.

Registration is now open for the release of “Silver Palace” and “Merge Cat Town”, two exciting match-3 puzzle games. It’s officially confirmed that “Dino Quake” will debut on mobile devices on June 19th, while “Dungeon Hiker” is set to launch on July 20th.

Regarding new releases, Dorfromantik will debut on both mobile devices and consoles, Space Squad Survival is scheduled to launch on mobile in June, UnGodly has been confirmed for a winter release on both mobile and PC, and Dragon Ball: Battle Peak was unveiled as a card-based RPG adventure.

As a devoted gamer, I couldn’t help but notice some exciting developments in my favorite games lately! PUBG Mobile unveiled an exhilarating partnership with Shelby American, while State of Survival kicked off a thrilling crossover event starring Agent 47 from HITMAN. Subway Surfers marked its 13th anniversary by introducing its 200th city! What a time to be a gamer!

To wrap things up, HoYoverse unveiled their plans for Project Shanghai, a grand open-world game modeled after GTA, as well as the mobile version of Dark and Darker is now called Abyss of Dungeons.

Week 3: May 15 to May 21

Executive Summary

In the third week, we’ve got more launches to share! These include “Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story”, “Shogun Showdown”, “Pup Champs”, “Once Human: RaidZone”, “Magic Chess: Go Go”, and “King of Crabs – Invasion”. Additionally, Netflix has broadened its mobile offerings with “The World of Peppa Pig” and announced “Planet Party Time” for both mobile and PC platforms.

Registration is now open for the following games on iOS: Foretales, DC Worlds Collide, and Thronefall. On the other hand, Neverness To Everness, Cooking Battles, Abyssal Soul, SUPERVIVE, Strinova, Final Fantasy XIV: Crystal World, and Crossfire: Legends have begun their testing phase.

As a dedicated gamer, I’m bummed out to share that my favorite games are undergoing some changes. Tribe Nine is unfortunately shutting down in November, and Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link has been officially scrapped. Warzone Mobile will no longer be available for download as of May 18, but the servers will continue to run. On a positive note, Fortnite made headlines with its grand return!

Drive Open and Blue Protocol: Star Resonance have both confirmed their respective releases for this summer and the year 2025. Meanwhile, Supercell has unveiled a Netflix series taking place in the Clash Universe, while Persona5: The Phantom X is set to launch on June 26th.

Newly released mobile games such as “Crystal of Atlan”, “Summoners War: Rush”, and “Thug Fighter Grand City” have hit the scene, joined by “TrainStation 3”. Meanwhile, “Shin Chan: Shiro and the Coal Town” debuted on Crunchyroll. In the meantime, prepare for the upcoming launches of “Trinity Trigger”, “Pine Hearts”, and “Subnautica”.

The upcoming pre-registration for some exciting titles is now open, featuring “FATE: Reawakened”, “Seven Knights Re:BIRTH”, “Lost Sword”, “Offroad League Online”, and the rebranded “Trickcal: Chibi Go”. On the other hand, “Duet Night Abyss”, “Guncrypt”, “TERBIS”, and “Destiny: Rising” have announced their upcoming beta tests.

Pre-registration is now available for several upcoming titles such as “No Way Home”, “Hello Kitty Merch Match”, “Ragnarok Crush”, and “Sword of Justice” in the Southeast Asia region.

The Soul Hunteress Game has commenced its open beta phase on Android devices, and worldwide registration prior to its release is now possible. Simultaneously, the mobile version of Valorant, titled as Valorant Mobile, will initiate closed beta testing in China on June 12, inviting signups from interested players. Additionally, Tencent’s Chasing Kaleidorider has declared a fresh phase of its beta testing.

Elsewhere, Rush Royale is now making its way to China, supported by iDreamSky, while Talking Hank participates in the Green Game Jam 2025 with environmentally friendly content.
