Moana 2 actress Auli’i Cravalho reveals incredible gift she was able to give mom after success

In an interview with People, she shared that some funds from the initial Moana film went towards buying a home for her mother, which she had acquired.
Speaking honestly, Auli’i shared that children often feel a sense of obligation towards their parents due to all the support they receive. However, it’s important to remember that this feeling is coupled with immense gratitude for their parents’ sacrifices, especially since Auli’i has a strong bond with her father too.
In a theater near Thanksgiving, Moana 2 was unveiled, giving Auli’i an opportunity to ponder over the eight years that have passed since the initial movie was released.
Auli’i reflected on the past ten years, marveling at all the personal growth she’s experienced during this time,” stated Auli’i, who was once associated with her parents’ construction business prior to achieving fame.
Auli’i shared that when I got the role, we resided in a single-bedroom dwelling in Mililani. I occupied the bedroom while my mother slept on the couch. Yet, she provided me with all I needed.
With some of the earnings from Moana’s triumphant run, she purchased a home for her mother, and Auli’i mentioned that Puanani is now enjoying a content retirement.
As I embarked on my journey with the initial Moana production, my parents wisely reminded me to stay grounded: “Remember, if this character doesn’t advance, you must complete high school. Make sure to do the dishes and straighten your bed. Avoid letting success go to your head.
Despite Moana being a significant financial success, Auli’i nonetheless chose to return to her roots in Hawaii after promotional activities, continuing her education thereafter.
At that point, she might sometimes feel quite overwhelmed, and I may seem like a bit of a nuisance. To put it bluntly, I was out of resources at the time…

Ever since Moana hit the screens, I’ve had the privilege to be part of remarkable projects like the film adaptation of the Broadway musical that was originally a 2004 high school comedy, Mean Girls, which premiered last year.
The actress known for singing in the movie Moana has additionally used her abilities in live theater, notably portraying Eva Peron, the Argentine first lady, in the musical Evita by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. This performance took place on the stages of London’s West End last year.
In 2022, she performed on Broadway for the first time in a remake of the Kander & Ebb musical “Cabaret”. Her character was Sally Bowles, a British vocalist at a nightclub in Weimar-era Berlin.
