MMA Twitter unravels after Tom Aspinall finishes Curtis Blaydes in just seconds

As a devoted UFC fan, I was absolutely blown away by Tom Aspinall’s performance at UFC 304. In just 60 seconds, he managed to stop Curtis Blaydes and retain his interim heavyweight championship in front of an electrified crowd in Manchester, England.

In just 60 seconds, Tom Aspinall managed to bring an end to Curtis Blaydes’ title challenge and successfully defended his interim UFC heavyweight crown at UFC 304 in Manchester, England, with an electrified crowd watching on.

In his own words, UFC’s Aspinall expressed, “I have a proven track record as the best finisher in the UFC. When I sense an opportunity, it ends there. I recently chatted with my manager about potential opponents, and guess who came up? Jon Jones… I hold no grudges against you, Jon… I simply believe that I outshine you.” With this fight, Aspinall added another knockout to his collection, bringing his record to a commendable 15-3.

As a seasoned MMA fan and observer of numerous fights, I’ve seen my fair share of intense moments in the cage. But the finish between Aspinall and Blaydes was something else. The way it unfolded was both thrilling and heart-wrenching.

After signing up for the UFC, Aspinall’s only defeat occurred against Blaydes in a matchup. At that event, Aspinall, who was the UFC’s interim heavyweight champ, sustained a torn ACL during the bout, forcing him to withdraw. In his previous six bouts within the UFC, Aspinall had managed to secure victories via finish. Following his triumphant performance at UFC 304, Aspinall intends to challenge for the undisputed heavyweight championship title as soon as he recovers.

Jones holds the undisputed heavyweight title in the UFC at present. However, he’s been forced out of action due to a torn pectoral muscle. Jones has expressed his desire to face off against Stipe Miocic, who was once the heavyweight champion. However, the impressive displays from Aspinall are making it challenging for the UFC to ignore him. Ultimately, the UFC will determine whom Jones will fight upon his recovery.

UFC Fighters react to Tom Aspinall stopping Curtis Blaydes

Since joining the UFC in 2016, Blaydes has consistently ranked among the top five heavyweights. At UFC 304, the number four-ranked heavyweight faced off against him, resulting in a loss for Blaydes. His record now stands at 18 wins and 6 losses. If Blaydes hopes to regain a spot in the title contention, he will need to build up an extended sequence of victories once again.
