MKOI versus T1: Match details and results
With the completion of Round 5, the group stage of the 2025 League of Legends World Championship is over. The top eight teams will now compete in the Knockout stage. The winner of the match between T1 and KOI advances directly to the quarterfinals, while the losing team is eliminated from contention and will be watching the rest of the tournament.
Movistar KOI had a successful competitive season, winning the LEC Spring 2025 and finishing in the top 8 at MSI 2025. They also qualified for the League of Legends Esports World Cup 2025, where they again reached the top 8 before being eliminated by T1.
Following a second-place finish at the LEC 2025 Summer tournament, MKOI qualified for the World Championship 2025. There, they faced tough competition, losing to both KT Rolster and G2, but managed victories against Fnatic and Secret Whales. However, many believe T1 are simply a stronger opponent for this MKOI team.
T1 has been a bit inconsistent lately. They didn’t perform well in the regional league and lost matches at Worlds 2025 against CFO and Gen.G. So far, their only wins have been against teams from the West – FlyQuest and 100 Thieves. Given this, it seems surprising they would lose to KOI.
