Mitchell & Webb Back With New Sketch Show!

Renowned comic pair, David Mitchell and Robert Webb, will join forces once more for a fresh, exciting sketch series airing on Channel 4.

The duo have gained recognition through their popular television sitcom, The Peep Show, which aired on the network from September 2003 to December 2015.

Now, more than a decade since wrapping up their popular series, the duo often recognized as Mitchell and Webb have reunited for a fresh six-episode run, still without an official title.

The program brings together the duo with renowned comedians of today and tomorrow, fostering a unique blending of creative comic talents.

An outstanding group of comedic artists, both established veterans and rising stars like Kiell Smith-Bynoe from “Ghost”, Lara Ricote, Stevie Martin known for “Taskmaster”, and Krystal Evans as a stand-up comedian, will collaborate in this production.

As a die-hard fan, I can hardly contain my excitement! The upcoming series I’ve been eagerly anticipating is being brought to life by none other than That Mitchell & Webb Company, in partnership with Big Talk Studios – the masterminds behind some of my all-time favorite comedy shows like Friday Night Dinner, Back, and Ludwig. Simply fantastic!

Upon hearing about Channel 4’s new project, a sketch show, the duo expressed surprise, confusion, and readiness for the task.

This could be rephrased as: ‘Currently, the industry is facing challenging times, but we’re optimistic that reviving the most difficult type of comedy might prove to be a clever and unconventional decision.’

We’re quite certain that, unlike Roger Moore precariously perched on a car’s bonnet over a cliff in ‘For Your Eyes Only’, we won’t be pushing British television comedy towards its tragic end.

They expressed: ‘We’re excited to collaborate with our exceptionally talented young team in our upcoming project. We kindly invite audiences to pay close attention during the commercial break and make an effort to purchase something.’

‘It doesn’t have to be a car but, you know, a box of chocolates or an app or something.’

In the process, Kiell expressed: ‘Being part of this project alongside comedy greats Mitchell & Webb is like finally being invited to sit at the adults’ table that I’ve longed for, only to discover that the grown-ups are just as hilarious, absurd, and they might even let me have a taste of Advocaat.’

‘I’m really excited to be a part of this long-awaited return of comedy royalty.’

Lara exclaimed: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be working with the finest talents around! This team is simply hilarious, charming, and delightful, and the sketches we’re creating are pure comedy gold.

I’m incredibly fortunate to be involved in this. The writers’ rooms were an absolute blast, and now we get to perform in it too? It feels like a dream come true!

Krystal expressed about the latest series: “Collaborating with such skilled colleagues and this exceptionally gifted ensemble feels like a genuine fulfillment of a long-held dream. Plus, they offer us biscuits for free, and if we excel, they even treat us to pizza.

It turns out that Stevie began creating online sketches because he hadn’t imagined himself performing sketch comedy on television. However, now he’s doing just that, alongside the very individuals who inspired him to become a sketch comedian!

It’s incredibly exciting! Moreover, they have been a joy and a pleasure to collaborate with, and David was particularly gracious when I expressed my appreciation for ‘Luther’.
