Love Island Australia’s Mitchell Eliot, after his separation from Phoebe Spiller, has finally spoken up about his current life situation. He shared that he is now embarking on a fresh phase of personal exploration and accepting his sexual fluidity.

As a lifestyle connoisseur reflecting on my own journey, I recently opened up about my personal growth and experiences related to my sexuality in a candid conversation on the Sensory Overload podcast. This heartfelt discussion took place at the age of 27, following my season four stint as a reality star where I found love with Phoebe.

For the first time since their unexpected separation in July 2024, Mitch has decided to embrace self-discovery, stating that he is now allowing himself to understand ‘who I am’ without any undue stress or constraints.

He expressed that sexuality is a wonderful aspect, and he believes that individuals should become more open-minded about it, as he shared this sentiment with podcast host Billy Barker.

Following his break-up, he admitted that he resolved to become more open. Deep within him, he had always desired some flexibility and variety, yet he hadn’t taken many steps towards it before. It’s essentially about him exploring and understanding this new aspect of himself.

He added bluntly: ‘Who gives a f**k who you f**k?’

Originating from the Gold Coast, this individual has consistently expressed that he finds no compulsion to categorize his sexuality – a fact which remains unaffected by the persistent inquiry from admirers.

‘I get DMs from people now and people will be like, ‘What’s your sexuality?’ he said.

As a firm believer in personal privacy, let me clarify that it’s not essential for everyone to delve into my identity or experiences. Regarding the matter at hand, I find myself identifying as fluid, where my feelings and self-perception can shift over time from what is traditionally considered straight to queer, and vice versa.

As a single individual like myself, I find discussing such topics openly to be liberating. It has proven to be an incredibly effective method for me to establish connections with others who may be treading a similar path.

Host Billy commended the star for their honesty, expressing: “I find it incredibly inspiring that you openly discuss these matters, demonstrating to the upcoming generation that such experiences are a normal aspect of life and there’s no reason to feel embarrassed about them.

Reflecting my admiration and respect, my former partner Phoebe recently demonstrated her unwavering backing for me by subtly expressing affection beneath a shared podcast snippet she found online, symbolized by two heart emojis.

Fans were disheartened when Phoebe, aged 24, declared their breakup in July 2024, stating at the time: ‘Sadly, Mitch and I have gone our separate ways. Despite my hopes for him to be my lifelong partner, we found ourselves wanting different paths. However, my feelings for him will remain constant.’

Phoebe, from the moment I met you, I fell in love, and since then, you’ve shown me what it feels like to be deeply cherished… However, we both need some time to develop individually. Rest assured, my feelings for you remain incredibly strong, and I will continue to support you wholeheartedly.

Even though it was painful, Mitch asserted during the podcast that breaking up was essential for his personal development.

He admitted that it was extremely difficult for him, as he still held strong feelings for her. However, he realized he had to prioritize himself instead.

Currently, the Love Island celebrity is eager to start a new chapter – free from definitions, without boundaries, simply embracing life according to his personal preferences.
