As a huge Tom Cruise fan, I’m thrilled to share some great news! After waiting what felt like forever, the last movie in the series finally has a release date for streaming. It’s been months since it hit theaters, and I know a lot of us have been eager to watch it again from the comfort of our homes!
Most fans see The Final Reckoning as the last movie in the Mission: Impossible series starring Ethan Hunt. While it set several box office records when it came out, it didn’t quite earn enough to cover its costs. Now, after being released in theaters on May 23, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will be available to stream on Paramount+ starting December 4.
After a long wait, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning finally arrived in theaters and began streaming. It first premiered in Tokyo on May 5th and was shown at the Cannes Film Festival (though not as part of the competition) before its official release on May 23rd.
The latest Mission: Impossible film, The Final Reckoning, had the biggest opening day of any movie in the series. It earned a total of $591.3 million worldwide in theaters and is currently among the top ten highest-grossing Hollywood films of the year.
Despite a strong initial gross, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning was incredibly expensive to make, with a production budget of $400 million – one of the highest ever. To simply cover its costs, the movie needed to earn around $1 billion, which it didn’t, making it a box office letdown.
Despite not selling many copies, The Final Reckoning was very well-received. Critics gave it an 80% approval rating based on over 400 reviews, while audiences loved it even more, giving it an 88% rating. It also earned the prestigious “Certified Fresh” and “Verified Hot” badges.
The film became available on Paramount+ several months after its initial release. It also took a few months to become available for purchase on demand (PVOD), launching digitally on August 19th with extra features.
The latest Mission: Impossible film, The Final Reckoning, became available on physical media on October 14th. Fans can find it on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in a collectible SteelBook edition, standard 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, and DVD.
