Mission: Impossible Surpasses John Wick at the Box Office – What This Means for Action Films!

Impossible movie, titled “Mission: Impossible – Fallout”, has surpassed one of Keanu Reeves’ most cherished action films in terms of earnings at the U.S. box office. This is significant because the previous Mission: Impossible film, “Rogue Nation”, faced underperformance, but this new achievement suggests a promising future.

In seven days since its release, “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” is outpacing other movies in the competition at the U.S. box office, surpassing one of Keanu Reeves’ well-known action films, “John Wick: Chapter 2,” which had earned $92 million during its entire run in 2017. After only seven days, the eighth installment in the long-running spy series has grossed $95.3 million in the U.S.

However, the lower-budget “John Wick” series, under the direction of Chad Stahelski, has proven to be a formidable competitor among action films. In 2023, “John Wick: Chapter 4” surpassed the domestic box office earnings of “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning,” marking a significant victory for the R-rated franchise whose initial film was produced on a budget under $30 million.

Currently, it seems poised to surpass $120 million in its second weekend, which strengthens its chances of hitting the $200 million mark domestically as we approach June.
