Missing star jeweller, his lost £170 million and an intriguing link to Dunhill heir

As a dedicated follower of high-stakes entrepreneurship and glamour, I’ve been captivated by the enigmatic journey of Vashi Dominguez – a man who once dazzled with his Ferraris, Maseratis, and sparkling necklaces for Holly Willoughby. However, the allure of this captivating figure has taken a dramatic turn, plunging into the depths of mystery and intrigue.

I’m absolutely smitten by the charismatic tycoon who cruises in a Ferrari, or at times, a Maserati, turning heads wherever he goes. From high-rolling investors to the radiant Holly Willoughby, he leaves quite an impression. On ITV’s This Morning, I was lucky enough to witness him adorning her elegant neck with a dazzling £500,000 string of sparklers!

However, despite a staggering 97% increase in sales for his jewelry company, which was financially supported by John Caudwell, the billionaire founder of Phones4u, Vashi Dominguez experienced an unfortunate and dramatic decline in success.

By April 2023, the company faced liquidation. Initial examinations pointed towards a shocking sum of approximately £170 million, which was supposed to be investors’ funds, being untraceable. Later, Charles Caudwell admitted to investing one million pounds, while it is said that two other prominent individuals had invested ten million and fifteen million pounds respectively.

Regarding Vashi, who unveiled a luxurious ‘concept store’ in London’s Covent Garden and expressed plans to open approximately 200 more globally ‘soon’, there has been no further development or indication of such expansion – this remains the case up until now.

It turns out that something interesting has transpired this week. Specifically, certain fundraising listings in America have mysteriously disappeared from the internet, apparently sometime between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

The planned events – lunch in New York and dinner in Miami – were set for September 2022. However, these occurred mere three months prior to when Vashi’s company faced a winding-up petition, filed by one of its London landlords who claimed more than £250,000 was owed.

The digital invites for the American events clearly mentioned that they were being organized by Dunhill Ventures, a firm founded by Piers Dunhill, who is often referred to as the daring great-grandson or even the great-great grandson of tobacco tycoon Alfred Dunhill. To attend these events, potential investors are requested to respond with their RSVP.

Initially, it seems rather hazy to Dunhill, aged 30. ‘I’m completely clueless about what you’re referring to,’ he explains via email, followed by: ‘As far as I recall, [Vashi] runs a jewelry business located in the United Kingdom.’

Later on, it turns out, my memory came back to me. A company representative informed me that they had utilized my name for their events, unbeknownst to me. I had just attended a lunch in New York and kept quiet throughout the event. What I wasn’t aware of was my name being leveraged for marketing strategies without my consent.

The Miami lunch, adds Dunhill’s rep, ‘was cancelled, primarily because Vashi was sick’.

Next month, it appears that both Dunhill and Vashi had an informal gathering in New York, as suggested by the photographs still available online.

‘If having a Millionaire’s Mindset implies one thing, this image shows it might be the level of a Billionaire’s Circle of Wisdom.’ The caption reads: Vashi Dominquez [sic], Vashi Jewelry. Piers Dunhill, Dunhill Ventures.’ In simpler terms, the two individuals depicted in this photo are considered to have a level of business acumen that goes beyond millionaires and could potentially be on par with billionaires.

It’s speculated that Dominguez is currently residing in Dubai. A significant investor in his company has shared with me that it’s fitting for him to be under investigation by the Serious Fraud Office (SFO).

Twice, Dunhill chose not to respond when questioned about whether he would completely collaborate with the SFO during an investigation of this nature.

However, he currently has a full workload, as I previously mentioned that his membership at the exclusive 5 Hertford Street club in London was revoked earlier this year.

In October, I disclosed that he had jointly participated in investor roadshows with Renato Brioni, a financial entrepreneur who previously went by Renato Libric. This man served a three-year prison term for ‘wire fraud’ in the U.S. in 2018 and was mandated to repay more than $1.5 million to those he had deceived.

Small change, of course, by the almost limitless millions missing from Dominguez’s accounts…
