Missed it at the cinema? A Minecraft Movie, Warfare and 3 other recent movies you can now watch at home
Managing to stay updated with each new film hitting theatres can already be quite a challenge. But it becomes even more difficult when these movies become accessible for viewing at home as well.
That’s where Digital Spy comes in to help.
As an avid cinephile, I’ve dived deep into the schedule to unearth five films that have just hit digital shelves in the UK! If you’ve missed catching them at the theatre, you can now grab them for a watch at home, either by purchasing or renting.
What to Read Next
A Minecraft Movie
Watch now: Prime Video | Apple TV | Microsoft Store
This year, the blockbuster film titled “A Minecraft Movie” has been a massive hit, earning over $900 million globally, making it the highest-grossing movie in Hollywood so far.
In a long-anticipated transformation of a widely known video game, four unconventional characters (portrayed by Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, and Sebastian Hansen) are transported via a portal into the Overworld. Once there, they join forces with skilled artisan Steve (played by Jack Black), to navigate their return to our world.
Warfare
Watch now: Prime Video | Apple TV | Microsoft Store
Among this year’s most gripping films, “Warfare” is the newest project from acclaimed director Alex Garland (known for “Civil War” and “Annihilation”), featuring a stellar ensemble including Kit Connor, Joseph Quinn, and Will Poulter.
Garland collaborated with Ray Mendoza in writing and directing the film “Warfare“, which is inspired by Mendoza’s genuine encounters during the Iraq War. As a US Navy SEAL, he and his unit were subjected to intense gunfire during the Battle of Ramadi, an event that served as the basis for this production.
Snow White
Watch now: Prime Video | Apple TV | Microsoft Store
Despite Snow White’s box office earnings of around $200 million, which were less than impressive following negative reviews from critics, you now have the chance to decide for yourself if it was unjustly maligned.
As a dedicated fan, I was thrilled to see Rachel Zegler step into the timeless role of Snow White in Disney’s live-action reimagining. Meanwhile, Gal Gadot brought an unmatched evil charm to her portrayal of the Queen. This fresh take on Snow White included original songs penned exclusively for this modern adaptation, making it more than a direct remake of the cherished cartoon.
Drop
Watch now: Prime Video | Apple TV | Microsoft Store
This year’s most unexpectedly gripping thriller, titled “Drop“, retains its element of shock when viewed on a smaller screen, and it might even discourage you from using dating apps.
Under the guidance of Christopher Landon, director of “Happy Death Day”, comes the movie “Drop”. In this film, we follow Violet (Meghann Fahy), a widowed mother on her first date in years with charismatic photographer Henry (Brandon Sklenar). However, their evening takes a chilling turn when an unknown individual threatens Violet, demanding that she either kill Henry or risk the life of her child.
Flow
Watch now: Prime Video | Apple TV
You could rephrase it as follows: For several weeks, you might have had the opportunity to watch Flow from home, but its exceptional animation was too enticing for us not to showcase it here. Notably, this animation has maintained an almost flawless rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
In the wake of a massive flood, the film Flow narrates the tale of a resourceful cat navigating through life alongside other animals, as the water continues to rise. This exceptional animated feature rightfully claimed the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and promises to be one of the top movies of 2025.
Here it comes! The inaugural print issue of Digital Spy’s magazine is available now. You can grab a copy of British Comedy Legends from your local newsstand or purchase it online for only £3.99.
