Sabrina Washington, formerly of Mis-Teeq, has rejoined the group, raising fans’ hopes for a possible reunion after a long-standing disagreement.
Formed in 1999, the girl group – featuring Alesha Dixon and Su-Elise Nash – achieved international success with their hit song, Scandalous.
Mis-Teeq was a very successful group, achieving top ten album positions twice and consistently charting seven singles in the UK.
The band’s first album, ‘Lickin’ Both Sides,’ included their initial five singles, all of which reached the top 10 in the UK charts.
However, in 2005 the group split up after their then record label folded.
Although it seemed like Alesha Dixon, 47, was preventing a possible reunion, it came out in 2020 that Sabrina Washington, 46, was actually taking legal action against the Britain’s Got Talent judge over money earned from songwriting.

According to a source, Sabrina previously claimed that Alesha improperly received royalty payments for their first two songs.
I’m so relieved to hear that Su-Elise and Sabrina have finally made peace! Su-Elise recently told the Daily Mail that Sabrina is ‘back in the fold,’ which just warms my heart. It’s wonderful to see them putting everything behind them.
She said Sabrina is back in touch with the group. They keep in contact occasionally, and have a WhatsApp group to discuss work and personal things. It’s good to know how everyone is doing, and it doesn’t need to be a daily conversation.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m always fascinated by the dynamics of groups, and I recently learned something really lovely! I’ve been hearing from Su-Elise that she and the other members of the group are still very close – they talk regularly. They’ve even discussed the possibility of getting back together, but they’re wisely taking their time, wanting to do it when it feels genuinely right for everyone. It’s so heartwarming to see that connection still thriving!
‘We are speaking on a fairly regular basis, but there is nothing set in stone as yet.
We’re open to the right opportunity if it comes along, but we aren’t currently working on anything specific.
When Mis-Teeq first started, we were pioneers of UK garage and R&B in the UK, and we achieved a lot of success. Now, if we were to work on something new, it would be purely for enjoyment.
Mis-Teeq were ‘the good girls’ of R&B

Su-Elise explains that their group had a reputation as ‘the good girls’ among popular groups like the Spice Girls, Atomic Kitten, and the Sugababes.
You know, as someone who’s followed a lot of groups, it’s funny – we sang a song called ‘Scandalous’ with Mis-Teeq, but honestly, there wasn’t a lot of *actual* scandal around us. We had a few little bumps in the road, of course, but nothing major!
Honestly, it was amazing. We weren’t constantly splashed all over the tabloids like some other groups. We were smart – if we went out, we always slipped out the back. No embarrassing photos of us stumbling out of cabs or dealing with all that drama other girls were going through. It just felt…different, and so much better, you know? We managed to avoid all that craziness!
Kerry Katona, one of the first members of the band Atomic Kitten, recently shared that the group sometimes earned as little as £250 per week.
The announcement surprised many fans and people within the music industry, especially considering the group – which included Liz McClarnon and Heidi Range – had previously achieved three number one hits and thirteen top ten singles.
As someone who’s observed the music scene for years, I’ve always admired Mis-Teeq. They were really lucky to have a good team around them – so many groups back then weren’t so fortunate. And honestly, the industry is a completely different world now than it was when they were starting out. It’s changed drastically!
‘Now they do like 360 deals where because of social media and music sharing online,’ she explained.
In the past, if you wanted to listen to music, you had to go to a record store and buy a physical copy – a CD, tape, or record. Now, it’s much easier – you can simply download music or use streaming services.
Record sales aren’t as profitable for record companies as they used to be. Because of this, it’s now common for them to take a percentage of income from other areas, like merchandise sales, concert earnings, and publishing rights.
Fortunately, things worked out differently for us at the time. Any issues or tasks they handled always ended up coming back to our team.
Fortunately, we wrote most of our songs, including our biggest hits, so we continue to receive royalties for our songwriting and publishing, which really helps us financially.
Shock proposal

Su-Elise, who moved to Australia from the UK a few years ago, announced her engagement to Ryan St David in August.
The couple shared a video of their special day and went for a walk with their son, Blu, in Bouddi National Park, Australia.
Ryan proposed to Su-Elise on a beautiful, rocky beach as the sun set, and their four-year-old child was there to witness the special moment.
Oh my gosh, you guys, I was completely losing it! She was just radiating joy, bouncing up and down, and then… then she kissed him! It was the sweetest, most passionate kiss, and you could just *feel* how happy she was to be marrying him. I seriously almost died from the cuteness!
Su-Elise shared with the Daily Mail that she was completely surprised by Ryan’s proposal and described all the effort he put into it.
The singer said her partner traveled to Sydney to pick up the ring, which the jeweler had been working on for months.
He explained that even though he was in Sydney to train for the marathon, he was also planning to meet a friend for a run.
Su-Elise happily shared that she and her partner are still deeply in love, feeling as connected now as when they first met.

It’s funny how relationships work. Just when you think the spark is gone, someone does something incredibly sweet and you rediscover your feelings all over again.
You know, as someone who appreciates the little joys in life, I have to say this diamond is just… magical. I can’t help but glance at it constantly, and honestly, it brings a smile to my face every single day. It’s a beautiful reminder of a special moment.
We had talked about getting married, but I figured it would happen eventually. So, when he proposed, it was a complete shock – I really wasn’t expecting it at all.
She remembered that day, explaining they lived at the beach in Australia and often woke up early to watch the sunrise. They hadn’t done it in a while, but Ryan checked the weather and suggested they go, saying it looked like a beautiful sunrise was coming.
I said it would be no problem, but of course, it meant waking up before sunrise while it was still dark. I quickly threw on whatever clothes were nearby and walked up to the cliff top in my Ugg boots, without bothering with makeup. I hadn’t really prepared, but I was incredibly happy – truly overjoyed.
The couple hasn’t begun planning the wedding yet; they’re still deciding where to have the ceremony – which country it will be in.
Swapping music for fashion

After Mis-Teeq broke up, Su-Elise focused on fashion and launched her own brand, SUZU, to express her creative talents.
The eco-friendly swimwear brand started after a London woman witnessed a storm leave heaps of trash on her local beach.
Su-Elise remembers feeling confident she could create better designs than what she was seeing. This feeling, combined with an idea she had while pregnant, led her to consider starting her own swimwear line.
We experienced some really bad storms. Afterwards, the beach would be covered in trash that had been washed in from the ocean—sometimes you couldn’t even see the sand underneath it all.
Ryan and I were walking when we came across a surprising amount of trash. There were beer barrels, plastic bottles, and old fishing nets, but the most unusual thing we found was actually a seat from an airplane engine.
The Sugababes’ Keisha Buchanan was one of the brand’s first ever customers.
Su-Elise recalled sending the item to her and then following up with a text saying, “Oh, thank you so much!”
All of my swimwear and resort wear is made entirely from recycled materials – specifically, discarded fishing nets and other ocean waste.
Mis-Teeq achieved international success, reaching number one in the US, across Europe, and in the UK. Interestingly, the US, Australia, and the UK are still my biggest markets for my brand, Suzu.
